Saying "only the rich vote for Mamdani" ignores what’s actually happening.

Working-class people are still in NYC, they're just more rent-burdened, overworked, and politically pissed off than ever. The problem isn’t that only the rich are left, it’s that the poor are being priced out, and he's one of the few actually talking about why.

Yes, red states gained electoral votes. But that doesn’t mean their politics are better, it means housing is cheaper and unions are weaker. People are moving for cost-of-living, not because they want Greg Abbott or Ron DeSantis. And if Democrats are failing, the answer isn’t more of the same, it’s a serious shift. Not Clinton-style, but a politics that actually takes on corporate landlords, health insurers, and greedy developers.
You get it Good post

The biggest winner outside of Zohran of course has to be Lander. He may have lost the battle but he damn sure won the war.

Lander did great with those wealthy white folks in Brooklyn and Manhattan and now he has the progressive movement behind him. He should challenge Kathy Hochul for Governor next year.

Zohran’s ideas may not fly in the Rust Belt , but the anger he’s speaking to? That’s everywhere. Housing, healthcare, debt and those problems don’t stop at city lines.

Moderates/Centrists can keep saying “tighten up and win,” but if that worked, why are Dems still losing ground with working-class voters? Maybe it's time to try something that actually gives people a reason to vote for them, and not just more “not as bad as the other guys.”
Yes, many voters are angry about housing, healthcare, debt, etc but on a national level, you need to win enough moderates.

However, many moderate/centrist voters prioritize social issues over economic issues. That's the conundrum :manny:

Dems shocked that a leftist won in a Dem stronghold.
on the same note, progressives shouldn't be taking this NYC win as some kind of national mandate :mjlol:

it's not only being met with scorn from the rest of the country, but he literally had the incumbent, and a rapist establishment blowhard who most people think should go away, split the rest of the vote

and i respect what mamdani did here :hubie: but i wouldn't get carried away by this unique set of circumstances. in a way, it was any newcomer's race to win

That's absolutely true. That's a big reason why Trump is president right now :dahell:
If they prioritized social issues dems would have won considering abortion was at the top of all social issues. Once again republicans are winning because of the ecomomy and economic conditions. You buffoons confuse republicans ability to tie in social issues with economic anxiety as the soul reason behind why trump wins. When austerity exist you can blame anything and everything including social issues.

The next challenge for Zohran and #MamdanisManiacs will be to bring the party together after such a contentious primary. It’ll be on him and his supporters to convince the people they just called stupid for voting Cuomo (and in some cases advocated for their death as evidenced in this very thread) to come back and support him against the incumbent, Mr. Adams.

Would the opposite be true to? How would Cuomo convince the people who he called antisemitic jihadist/communist to come and support him against Mr Adams?

Only democrats are expected to get on their knees and beg voters after primaries , your post are as hilarious as you hyping up wayne county :mjlol:
Unfortunately your posts are not hilarious. They are disturbing. When you aren’t calling for terrorist attacks where people live, posters to be placed in chattel slavery or old black people to be killed en mass you are mindlessly following whatever your Twitter algorithm is feeding you. Thankfully you aren’t on mr mamdanis team or he’d have a lot of explaining to do.
