There are times and contexts where the material conditions are such that the push for action is less appealing than the maintenance of the status quo.
Could it be that’s a flaw in human psychology and nothing will be enough? A refugee from Palestine would think America is a paradise, a peasant from the 1200s would think America is a utopia.

It’s all about perspective, European countries with much more robust social programs still have large swaths of their populations unsatisfied.

If a human was born in a literal paradise it wouldn’t be too long until they grew discontented

Oh no! People have it worse than us. Such a trash argument. Everyone should have a decent standard of living.

You’re not understanding my point, living conditions should improve but if you think humanity will ever be content then you’re fooling yourself
The issue is not about being contend,.let's first start of in a state where we can work towards it in the first place..which means a roof over your head, education and enough food to live on for all of humanity.

I don't think it's a flaw that we are always striving towards better. I agree that perspective plays a large role in human psychology, but the current society we live in is nowhere near a perfect paradise, regardless of the much worse situations people in other societies find themselves in (often as a direct result of our relatively well-off situation). Contentedness is not the goal, better is.

The lack of gratitude is why Trump got elected, discontent should be expressed but gratitude should also be acknowledged. If Americans had a realistic perspective of our living conditions in this country Trump wouldn’t have won. Trump exploited flaws in human psychology to gain power and our desire for “change” for the sake of “change” will make us change for the worse under this administration.

Trump got re-elected because people material conditions worsened under biden, nothing to do with gratitude.

Actually it’s everything to do with gratitude, the average American wasn’t grateful for what Biden did after Trump ran the country into the ground 2020, they also weren’t grateful of the civil liberties a liberal administration provides versus a fascist one.

They weren’t grateful for having qualified people in administrative roles instead of unqualified sycophants

Hispanics weren’t grateful of having their undocumented family members around

Non-voting minorities weren’t grateful for the civil rights and erosion of institutional white supremacy that liberals enacted over the course of decades

The business community wasn’t grateful stable pro-growth leadership and undisrupted global trade

Union members weren’t grateful for Biden’s pro union stance.

The average consumer wasn’t grateful for Lina Khan and the CFPB

Rural cacs weren’t grateful for hospital access

People like Elon weren’t grateful for the green energy subsidies that Democrats provided.

A lot of people were ungrateful
