There are times and contexts where the material conditions are such that the push for action is less appealing than the maintenance of the status quo.Do you think society will always push for action or will at some point the status quo be good enough?
Could it be that’s a flaw in human psychology and nothing will be enough? A refugee from Palestine would think America is a paradise, a peasant from the 1200s would think America is a utopia. There are times and contexts where the material conditions are such that the push for action is less appealing than the maintenance of the status quo.
Oh no! People have it worse than us. Such a trash argument. Everyone should have a decent standard of living.Could it be that’s a flaw in human psychology and nothing will be enough? It’s all about perspective, European countries with much more robust social programs still have large swaths of their populations unsatisfied.
If a human was born in a literal paradise it wouldn’t be too long until they grew discontented
You’re not understanding my point, living conditions should improve but if you think humanity will ever be content then you’re fooling yourselfOh no! People have it worse than us. Such a trash argument. Everyone should have a decent standard of living.
The issue is not about being contend,.let's first start of in a state where we can work towards it in the first place..which means a roof over your head, education and enough food to live on for all of humanity. You’re not understanding my point, living conditions should improve but if you think humanity will ever be content then you’re fooling yourself
I don't think it's a flaw that we are always striving towards better. I agree that perspective plays a large role in human psychology, but the current society we live in is nowhere near a perfect paradise, regardless of the much worse situations people in other societies find themselves in (often as a direct result of our relatively well-off situation). Contentedness is not the goal, better is.Could it be that’s a flaw in human psychology and nothing will be enough? . Bought and paid dems have been showing they ass, denouncing a candidate for stuff they didn't even say because aipac told them too. Youth chose zohran, old guard mad that they did its going to be a nasty racist 4 monthsThe lack of gratitude is why Trump got elected, discontent should be expressed but gratitude should also be acknowledged. If Americans had a realistic perspective of our living conditions in this country Trump wouldn’t have won. Trump exploited flaws in human psychology to gain power and our desire for “change” for the sake of “change” will make us change for the worse under this administration.I don't think it's a flaw that we are always striving towards better. Trump got re-elected because people material conditions worsened under biden, nothing to do with gratitude. The lack of gratitude is why Trump got elected, discontent should be expressed but gratitude should also be acknowledged.
Actually it’s everything to do with gratitude, the average American wasn’t grateful for what Biden did after Trump ran the country into the ground 2020, they also weren’t grateful of the civil liberties a liberal administration provides versus a fascist one.Trump got re-elected because people material conditions worsened under biden, nothing to do with gratitude.
