SMF and LAX to VA and NC
Will that stop the Jordan vs. Bron threads? Curry vs. Bron? KD vs. everyone? etc...?
Message boards like this, Reddit, etc will continue to keep these old guys names alive........the same way Mike and Kobe are still weekly topics and they been retired for many years.

You still get, every month, a random thread about some guy who has been retired for a long time. Just this past week, that Clyde Drexler thread was back in rotation on here. So forums like this will continue to keep these old dudes' names alive....

But the frequency with which we talk about most of em will start to taper off as these guys start retiring. It'll give more room to discussion about active players...

21-22 was the end of that era

Steph/Dray/Klay was defendin they title in 23 :dahell: Jimmy made finals in 23. Bron and AD made WCF. Kyrie was in the finals last year. They was still mostly in playoffs last year and makin half of All NBA teams.

2024 All NBA: KD, Kawhi, AD, Bron, Steph, Dame. Jimmy made All NBA in 2023. They wasn't done yet.

That’s fine, but in ‘23 those two teams won one game.

None of them play for title contenders anymore.

These old mf's refuse to fukking retire 🤣 next step is just watching all these guys begin retiring, so we can appreciate what they all gave to us for so many years...

Beginning next year, here's where all these old mf's are at:

Year 23 (LeBron)
Year 21 (CP3)
Year 19 (Durant)
Year 18 (Russ)
Year 17 (Steph, Harden)
Year 16 (PG)
Year 15 (Kawhi, Butler, Kyrie, Klay)
Year 14 (Davis, Dame, Dray)

I been ready for these guys to go for awhile now. Like I said, while many of these guys still play at a respectably high level, NONE of them can reach the level that they used to. I'm ready for these mf's to start retiring. Free some roster space for the next generation of guys...
The Millennial generation of players born in the 1980s and early 1990s are aging out out of the nba just like millennials are aging out of pop culture and youth

Core baby boomers 1945-1959
The micro generation between boomers and gen x 1960-1965
Core gen x 1965-1977
Xillenials 1980-1985
1985-1993 core millennials
1994-1999 zillenials
2000-2012 core gen z
He won the title in '21. Won his first MVP in the 10s ('19), second MVP in the 20s ('20)...

I consider him a 20s guys because his career peaked in this era. He didn't become a relevant name until right at the end of the 10s---->but he's been a relevant name (and in my opinion the second greatest player of the 20s so far), the entire 2020s...
Jokic, embiid, siakam, Giannis, Jayson Tatum, SGA, Jamal Murray, aaron Gordon, spida mitchell, jaylen brown are zillenials born from 1994 to 1999 They are in between pure millennials and Pure gen z. It’s another Transitional generation

Anthony Edwards, Austin reaves, Zion Williamson, holmgren, etc were all born in 2000 and after and are therefore pure zoomers

Natural cycle of life. The youth of today will be the old of tomorrow.

The stars of today will be tomorrow’s has-beens

Star Athlete at his peak today, retired tomorrow

Billie Eillish ended millennial cultural dominance in ‘19

maybe not

the nba hasnt been able to turn this new generation into "stars "... the older generation still has considerably more gravity with the public. the old to new transition is failing on several accounts

and its NOT the players themselves... short of the nba pulling a rabbit out of a hat the league gon take a haircut in prestige and engagement when the last generation is all the way gone

People have to be ready to let those players go.. are they ready?? I mean are the players post Steph really even appreciated like that? Folk are just now trying to crown AE as the next guy. We don’t even truly have a top guy now ready post LeBron and them.. we all know the nba lives off that

Jokic Giannis Embid need to be added to the list

They’re all in their 30s and will be going into year 12 and 13 this season coming up
