Desantis is finished. it's Vance, Cruz, or Rubio. i wouldn't be surprised if trump gives Desantis a job in '27, to shore up the base

the only exception is if Putin drops that blackmail by 2028, and it's so bad that ANY association with trump is torched then they'll have to look elsewhere

DeSantis is not finished until he wins a nomination and loses in thr general (Trump is one of the few exceptions).

Whoever told jasmine to run gotta be one of the GOAT manipulators to make her think Texas would vote for a woman and a black woman at that. Plus if there is any sizable contingent of black people like smooth mind there that also love to comfortably spout racist tropes against black women, she’s definitely done.

This is a weird take, considering Im not a fan of hers. And it's gonna sound a little crazy.

But I actually think Crockett could win a senate seat in Texas. I dont think anyone else stands a chance.

But i think she sounds different enough to most politicians that she could make it work.

She sounds authentic, understands new media, and is unorthodox (at least in behavior, if not in votes). Depending on how well she's able to do in the rural areas, I could actually see her pulling it off.

The caveat is that she would need to run against the Dems and articulate some policy areas in which she doesn't follow Dem orthodoxy. And she can't talk about gun restrictions

Talarico sounds like a standard politician (at least in the clips that I've seen). In my opinion, to win states like Texas or Florida, you need people who dont seem like everyone else in DC.

And they need to run against the parties. It's less about where there are on the left/right continuum than that they are running against the status quo.

To me, it seems like Talarico says all the right words, but doesn't get the affectation right.

No democrat is winning that seat in Texas. They can’t even flip a state chamber of the Texas legislature.

most of the south fits that vibe. It's why the Senate is always such an uphill race for the Dems. Cause so many of the states are defacto red for state wide seats.
