The truth is that All-Star weekend lost its luster sometime around the early-mid 2010s.
It hasn't been much since then in terms of excitement, but it serves its purpose as a mid-season break for the players to get rest, and gives the fans a moment to recap the first half of the regular season.
The dunk contest has been baloney for nearly a decade now, none of the recent participants and winners have excited me TBH.
