Avg American doesn’t have $2000 in savings and couldn’t survive a single catastrophe where they needed more than that

So nah. That ain’t no money

$21 per hour multiplied by 2,080 working hours per year is an annual income of $43,680 per year

That’s BEFORE taxes

Bruh my first job out of college I made less than that and it was the wealthiest I have felt in my life.

Social media got folks fukked up. Everybody trying to live a life they think someone else is living. Contrary to what you see on IG you don’t need a 7 series and 1st class vacations 4 times a year to life a happy life.

Do you know how much the cost of living has gone up since then? The cost of gas, car, food, etc?

Yea I had a two bedroom apt working at food lion in 12th grade. That same apt is 2500 a month now. And you need 3x the rent to even qualify.

I’m not saying you are broke making 40k. Not at all. But to act like “it’s some real money” like you gonna be balling at the club and not worrying about a budget and saving money and investing and got a 401k sitting right……

Probably not

So don't stay in Jackson. Or the Gulf Coast. All that shyt is in hurricane alley and is overpriced anyway thanks to the casinos.
I used to live in biloxi. I used to live in wv. I live 2 hours outside dc now.

All those cheaper places in the country and outskirts are cool, until you need something. Or until you go hang around a real metropolitan and realize, hey things are open after 9pm. Hey I don’t have to drive 45 to shop. Hey everything I need is in walking distance. Hey they actually pay a good salary here. Hey the schools are actually high tech.

There’s so much more. I know people moving to cut down on rent and their kids are going from the highest rated schools in the country to the worst. Not to mention the way of life.

Now for me, a country boy. I’m good with it. But everytime I drive 40 mins to the capital, I’m like “damn if I just had a crib right here in the middle of everything…”

It's not. We live in a capitalistic society so if you want to pay bills, invest, vacation, etc. then you need more than $21/hr.
No, you don't.

Unless you're taking care of a family.

If you're single, that's decent money, and you can do all that within reason. Now if your personal standards/goals require more, then, by all means, get that paper....

The following data are the most current income statistics for New Jersey from the US Census Bureau, are in 2020 inflation adjusted dollars and are from the American Community Survey 2020 5-year estimates.
Median Household Income: $85,245.
Average Household Income: $117,868.
Per Capita Income: $44,153.

14.8% of Households in New Jersey are High Income Households that make over $200,000 a year.

In the Midwest you can live great on $21/hr. A one-bedroom apt or studio ranges from $750-1000 a month.

95% of Coli users have no idea how to budget their money and buy things they can't afford, and get stuck making payments with interest
95% of America doesn’t have those housing prices

I mean I cannot disagree if there wasn't inflation and depending on how many dependants you have and how you're taxed. And where you live.As is right now if you make 21 an hour taxes will kill your shyt... :mjlol:

Before the inflation it was good now it's not enough...:francis:
