Lets say you dont have a car. And you got an offer for 2 jobs..

- At the 25/hour job you'll be making railroad wheels and dealing with casting, molding, melting and shyt like that

Starts at 25 an hour then jumps up to 27.50 after a 90 day probation period. Can work up to 14 consecutive 12 hour days and get at the most 4 days off. Drastic climates. Not on a bus line so its 3+ hours walking distance and you got to walk on a freeway and like 3/4 bridges

- The other jobs starts at 19.50/hour. You'll mostly be handling shipments and checking receipts for said shipments and shyt. Also will track shipments, load trucks, doing inventory, dealing with sheet logs, etc. Some bullshyt.... Only have to work 3 days a weeks, 12 hours a day. If you work 36 hours you'll get paid for 40. Work overtime when YOU want to. Walking distance is a little over 2 hours buts its mostly a straight shot, but its also on the bus line (not even a 35 min ride)

Some benefits

    • Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits available on day one (no waiting period)

    • One paid Community Involvement Day available per calendar year

    • Flexible work environment

    • Tuition reimbursement

    • Earn up to 120 hours vacation during your first year of service

    • Global company with small company feel

    • Onsite Fitness center

    • Public Transit access

    • Safety shoes reimbursed at $100 per year or $175 every two years

    • Safety prescription glasses through approved program

    • $100 Amazon Gift Card for COVID-19 vaccinated team members

    • 401k matching (100% of first 3%, 50% of next 3% = 4.5% match on 6% contribution)

Which one are yall going with??? Im going with the 25/hour job. Walking aint shyt for me.
Both are too far. I know someone who makes $25 per hour with a 40 min commute without snow. It’s not worth it IMO especially with the bs at work. They’re looking for a remote job now. If you’ll be working for Amazon, I’d say go with the Amazon job, its easier to move up/get hired for other Amazon jobs from what I’ve heard. I’d be applying for other jobs after 6 months in that position though bc it’s not enough money for me.

ETA: Why are you trying to walk hours to work!? I’ll read the whole thing next time. Get a job closer to home until you can get a car or afford Uber or something

If OP is telling the truth, this shyt makes me sad as fukk.:mjcry:

So let us say with the first job, it is 8am-8pm, OP has to get up at like 4:30am, get ready hit the road by 5 am, be on the road for 3 hrs and then arrive at his job, work his 12 hr shift and then leave at 8 pm, and get home by 11pm.

Is this the life you want breh?

I guess he could work 3 days a week.

Where is this job?, with that state income tax, you might not be getting as much as you think.

Thats nice.

You try it though.
Cats on the coli telling on themselves and they don’t even know.

I make pretty good money wfh and I sleep most of the time.

I’ll be at $43 an hour pretty soon doing the same.

Meanwhile trucking is hard work.

If you ask me, I’d rather wfh conserving my energy than on the road making the same amount.

Plus gas and maintenance of the truck aren’t factored in.

Exactly and if im being honest id take a job making $25-30 an hour not having to drive 10 hours a day vs driving 10 hours a day at $43 an hour with everything that comes with it. fukk That.

“$43 an hour isn’t something to be excited about”
I got a recruiter hitting me up right now over. A 43/hr job, I ain’t interested because I’d have to commute 35 minutes. fukk that.

My time is more important than waking up early and dealing with traffic

I'm telling you. That CDL will have you in a spot to do it. You'll find a way. Opportunities everywhere. Paying more than what I'm making too.
My man these certs, learning python and sql will have you straight as well. All from the convenience of your home. Like I let everyone know, I stay up all night, sleep most of my day and still get paid.:heh:

I'm driving for a company breh breh.
I'm not paying for any maintenance.

There's jobs out here that pay more than what I'm making. I'm just doing what I want to do right now.

Nah but Ive actually been thinking about getting one. IDK how to ride a bike though. My dad showed a while back and one time I almost crashed and said never again. And Uber'ing to and back from the job would be like 60 bucks a day fukk that.

If you're making 25 an hour but walking 6 hours round trip, 60 bucks a day to Uber really ain't shyt.

60 bucks a day is what a cheap rental car would be. At that point I'm getting a beater and driving to work.

Good for you. It's still not going with you when your last day on the surface of this earth arrives. What are you really living for. You sound vain breh. You can't be fulfilling your purpose while talking about what somebody else is choosing to do and help their city.

Yeah you can't take it with you but you can enjoy it while you have it. :mjtf:

Imagine not striving to get your paper up just because you can't take it with you when you die. :hhh:
