25 People Shot at D.C Block Party

DC isn't as bad as it was during the late 80's and early 90's but my city still has a long way to go in terms of cutting down the violence.

I see this here a lot. What's that suppose to mean to the victims of last nights shooting?

The fact that they are partying during a pandemic is secondary to the fact that they are partying together while Black and living in a system of white supremacy.

Y'all don't like to hear it but Black people do not get along. The only reason we should come together is if we're doing something of constructive value. Smoking weed and drinking alcohol isn't constructive and while it doesn't always lead to destructive outcomes, it very often does.

I don't know. Maybe negligence. Maybe public endangerment or child endangerment due to him hosting a block party during a public health crisis. DC will find something to charge him with.

Meh, block parties/large cookouts are common for our neighborhood. Grew up going to them up and down Minnesota ave and other parts of SE without any issue.

This one has been thrown for consistently for a few years now and it has always been love.

My mom still lives on Dubois - said she was on her porch enjoying the music when the shooting started and let a few young people come in for sanctuary.

Damn shame, rode through yesterday it looks like warzone - trash and police tape everywhere. Lotta people ran up out their shoes, so there are single shoes peppered up the block.
