Messed up. Pregnant mother of five gunned down. Over what? Now, I'll just say I don't approve of her having 6 plus kids before she hit 26, serious strain on your lifestyle, but it was her choice. Probably shouldn't have been out that late around then too, but that was her choice. Poor kids lose their mom over some bullshyt. Another sad story.

Real Talk tho....If you know your city is hot and shooting are going on, you HAVE to watch out who you hang out with and where you go. I know this is America and you should be able to go where you want when you want, but the reality is some places are fukking dangerous and being around certain people can get you in a world of trouble. Now we are all thinking the dude who ran off was the target but we just don't know. The fact is this young lady is dead because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This isn't a story about the state of Black people or our culture in general. This is a story about a certain segment of the population of Chicago at WAR. They call it black on black violence but this is war and really just murder. You don't hear about any other city posting these types of murders and shooting except Chicago and Palestine right now. Reading some more about this story, sad case all around. Her 17 year old brother died the same way, shot in a car in the head last summer in Chicago.

The 5 kids 3 boys and 2 girls range from aged 1 to 9. Grandma will raise the girls, grandad will raise the boys

Like Grandma and Granddad raised their son and daughter? How much gubmint money is trickling through that household. Do Grandma and Granddad have jobs? Little mans and little princesses is doomed. I'm sorry, but it is what it is. The cycle repeats. Will we ever do better?

i wasnt disputing the crime statistics, i was just explaining that those states came about because of mass incarceration, heavy police patrolling and displacing black people, and in some places in NYC the crime rate is the same

it isnt something to celebrate, one because there are still pockets of high crime and they are all black or latino and two the policies that brought crime down weigh heavily on black people

at the end of day black people have to fix black neighborhoods, and to do that IMO its important to discuss how music effects the way black youth behave and their outlook on life, because for black youth rap is an identity not just entertainment

The victim was rolling around with a nikka who was classless enough to flee the scene. This wasn't a random drive-by, this was a HIT. Now, why would someone put a hit out on a nikka? What that nikka did, instead of being a man, was use two women as human shields... and he couldn't be bothered to stay on the scene to make sure they were okay, but say 'I'm out' saving his own skin as one of them lay dying.

That family is not ever going to get out of that situation. Trayvon wasn't banging. A vagina is not absolution. These situations are not comparable.

For me, reading between the lines, the family is still involved in the gangbanging world. I don't think this had anything to do with her dead brother. Again, reading between the lines, the father said 'brother' when he probably really meant 'daughter's latest sperm donor'. There is absolutely no reason for a male banger to target a female family member with a drive by except to hurt a male family member (unless the female is doing dirt herself). That male family member cannot be the dead brother; he's dead, it's impossible to hurt him. That leaves Father, Brother, Cousin, Nephew, Son or Boo.

Four a.m. and Chiraq is on fire, children come first.-- especially if I'm starting a new job in the morning. A nikka can sleep on the couch. A nikka is going to sleep on the couch. A nikka can argue, a nikka is going to lose.

I'm not saying she deserved to die. I will never say that. This story makes me sick to my stomach. But I do understand why she died, what with the father being so adamant that this is a continuation of a banger blood feud. Again, a vagina is not absolution when one continues to involve one's self with that world, especially if she's doing shyt on the side that's helping a banger bang even if she's not pulling triggers herself. God help those children, but they don't stand a chance. They are already lost.
