Messed up. Pregnant mother of five gunned down. Over what? Now, I'll just say I don't approve of her having 6 plus kids before she hit 26, serious strain on your lifestyle, but it was her choice. Probably shouldn't have been out that late around then too, but that was her choice. Poor kids lose their mom over some bullshyt. Another sad story.

Real Talk tho....If you know your city is hot and shooting are going on, you HAVE to watch out who you hang out with and where you go. I know this is America and you should be able to go where you want when you want, but the reality is some places are fukking dangerous and being around certain people can get you in a world of trouble. Now we are all thinking the dude who ran off was the target but we just don't know. The fact is this young lady is dead because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Last Note..

This isn't a story about the state of Black people or our culture in general. This is a story about a certain segment of the population of Chicago at WAR. They call it black on black violence but this is war and really just murder. You don't hear about any other city posting these types of murders and shooting except Chicago and Palestine right now. Don't let the headlines get you into the mindset that we are all in some sort of war.

shyt like this happens all the time outside of Chicago. Detroit in 2013, 2012, and will be 2014s most violent city. There are at least 5 small cities more violent than even Detroit. I see the situation in Chicago not even as bad as any of these cities.

In Chicago, like you said, there is a war. But its the young gangs do must of it. In a place like Detroit... there are four block radius more dangerous.... with no gangs... the average nikka will shoot u. My lil cuz shot a niga and kidnapped a lil girl over some money..and shes hasn't been found. hes a college student, not a gang member. In a place like Chicago.... you can actually decided to not be in a gang and not to be around the culture..... in these other places you have no choice... like Pakistan. Places like Detroit flint and gary where its rare to meet a grown woman from an urban area that hasn't been raped.

Im not sure y they hype Chicago like this. But the headlines are madd suspect.

I used to be on this... but then eventually I saw how dangerous it was to not call something what it is in the manner that it understands. When I was afrocentric, every bytch was a queen regardless of circumstance.... but thats just not reality. Amerikka is at war w our people... we don't have the luxury of not being our best.

People like @LeyeT @theworldismine13 @Matt504 @Serious @Mephistopheles been calling a spade a spade for a long time, minus the contempt. I have no problem telling someone like it is, @Blackking thought being Afrocentric was romanticizing blacks and ignoring our flaws. No. Being Afrocentric means never surrendering like and fight the power like our black leaders did in the 50's and 60's.

I came up in the 90s in Ft Laud which was cocaine central, got a lot childhood friends doing life. I've seen a lot of come, I've seen a lot of go. So, I've seen the process of someone going from playing with G.I. Joes to catching a double homicide or their house being raided by the DEA because they was selling ki's. Its not pretty. But I still feel at ease around these lost souls.

I've been here in America most of my life so I usually consider myself America (Brazilian-American?). Used to live in Lauderdale too. Appreciate the kind words.
