I'm really happy for my bro because it got him out the streets and the bennies and pay are good for his family, but I really wonder how much of a toll it's gonna take on him eventually. He said most of the dudes he works with are alkies.
My lumbar spine is trash now
Have arthritis in my back
Also have bouts of carpal tunnel syndrome from fingering the mail for 12 years
Insomniac (but I was like that before the post office)
Knees are trash
I started back in 08 and at the time it was gravy then for about two years straight
I was doing splits everyday(I was an RCA)
Then I went regular and had a pretty easy route until Amazon kick the doors down
That shyt is killing everybody at the post office
The amount of consumption people do
Not to mention the bullshyt managers like to pull
And the constant whining from entitled customers
I know a couple of City Carriers (Regulars) that have pulled 100k and upwards the past 3 years due to COVID but their home lives are trash
nikkas getting divorced but start fukking the young dummies at the office
Had a clerk friend of mine die of cancer
Never told anybody
Had my own scare
These jobs are great for getting your paper up in a quick time but you have to transition out of it
No human can work 7 days straight(sometimes 14)
It’s impossible but people do it
Some get addicted to the penalty time
Others have no life after family leaves due to the hours
The PO is not for the faint of heart and thecoli damn sure ain’t built for it(I know it’s other carriers on this forum tho

Now if you can find that unicorn/gravy office
Where the supervisors actually care and the people are treated fairly
It’s easy peasy but trying to find those offices

Ups brethren cake too but some of the stories I’ve heard from my brethren
