$2k 19 week course on Full Stack Web Development with PHP - Worth taking or not.

I"ve seen countless threads on breh's both young and old on the coli trying to get into web development, I failed my A+Cert test(didn't go super hard but came super close) and just gave up on that kind of shyt, but I mean you know what they say invest in yourself right. My question to ya'll plop the 2k down and go hard, learn this and what exactly? ain't everybody and their mom a web developer? or is it still a need, or hell is it even a decent job for an entry level position? OR. take the 2k and do something else with it. I mean I've got access to much more than 2 grand but I ain't trying to blow 2 grand either lol. Any answers would be helpful.

Depends on how you learn. if you feel an in person class is beneficial then do that. but like the brehs saying, there’s free/cheaper resources online

No matter what bootcamp or course you take the majority of learning will be on your own. Even going to college sometimes I would consider myself to be self taught when it comes to certain aspects of development. You can do it but you need to make it a priority in your life and dedicate yourself to making personal projects and keeping yourself sharp by problem solving (codewars, leetcode). If your the type of person that has trouble self motivating, a bootcamp might be a good way to keep yourself accountable and bought into the process but there are far better free alternatives online. FreecodeCamp being a grade example if you want to get into Front End Dev.

The truth is Entry level jobs are saturated and your going to be grinding for a minute to get that initial first job but after that its far easier

Unless you’re a CAC/Asian with a network for someone to put you on no way in hell that course is taking you ANYWHERE :mjlol:

Watch all the free and paid courses you want. You will NOT be getting a full stack job web developer job. DO NOT waste your fukking time.

Your best bet is to go to community college and then a 4 year to study CS. That’s only to get your foot in the door. The real secret is networking and applying to hundreds of internships each year of college as a CS major until something sticks.

All that “oh you only need an cert” is BULLSHYT. That might’ve been the case 10 years ago but there is zero slack for you, especially in this economy and especially as a black man trying to enter this space. Most people either got lucky (amazing hiring conditions) or had a network for sometime to put then on.
