Welp...a fluke virus, brought America to it's knees...quick, fast, and in a hurry.:yeshrug:

Two months ago, this couldn't have been imagined. It seems like the economy/country crumbled in less than a month...:dead:

US lookin so funny in the light right now, it aint makin no sense...:whew:

Govt don't even look like they know WTF they're doing. What if this would've been some type of military attack on US soil, or existential threat? :hhh:

I don't even think, we can grasp, the changes that are gonna come from this event. shyt that isn't even on our radar. At the least, a bigger spotlight is gonna be placed on the government. fukk are these cacs doin 24/7 besides arguing, and having no plans in place. If ever was a time to hit the US, now would be the time....:lupe:
Loaning on interest is against the scriptures.

Who else is there to start a war with to pay off the debt.

What national resources and or assets is the government about to sell off to pay for the bailout.

You'll see when the economy is still in the shytter and furloughed workers become really unemployed.

That will be the result of this current lockdown, not because people are scared to go outside. Also, I'm not saying the economy will magically bounce back, but this lockdown is kind of like a ventilator; the longer you stay on it, the more damage it does. It's going to be a long road to recovery for a number of reasons, masses of frightened consumers is not one of them. People won't be afraid to engage with the remaining businesses, many just won't have the money.

They had a bunch of diseases back then that were just as bad or worse than we we have now. Remember that had just come off of the flu pandemic a decade earlier that killed 50 to 100 million people Worldwide. They had a bunch of other stuff too.

What’s the point this thread called a 2nd Great Depression then :sas2:

Because some of you Coli dudes just use words, but have no actual clue what they mean. There is a major difference between a recession and a depression. A depression is a long term economic downturn and it usually happens in more than one economy. A recession is just a cyclical slowdown.

Keep in mind too that in 1930 the U.S. population was 123 million people. in 2020 the USA population is about 330 million people. So the number of people unemployed might be the same as in 1930, but it would not have the same impact. Finally, Trump is a fugging idiot so this might turn into a depression, because if there is a second wave of coronavirus then we are likely to have a prolonged economic downturn.

Unless there's a vaccine that exists or a test that let's you know who has it and who don't people are not going back to the gym like that or eating out at restaurants or going anywhere with large crowds. Some countries are going to ban tourists from entering their country for at least a year til this boils over. You're really underestimating the psychological impact of the virus.

There is a difference though between The Great Depression and now: people don’t want to work.

At least here in San Diego, every store I go to is hiring. Target, Wal Mart, Supermarket, gas stations, there is opportunity to work.

Also, of those jobless, some are creating income without a specific company (Lyft/Uber, doordash, shypt, grub hub) etc.

I’m not saying it’s not bad, because I understand a middle manager not wanting to go be a stock boy, but it’s different :yeshrug:
Lmao breh where you at? Gaslamp :lolbron:?

Actually if you paid attention it was clear as day. Ray Dalio and Miachel Burry (the guy wwho also predicted the 2008 crash) both predicted the stock market crash 4 months before it happened.

The markets were already overvalued and were poised for a crash, the virus just made the crash happen faster.

You were arguing with me about how these other diseases were around during the Great Depression now you’re saying it’s not a depression :mjlol:

That's rough.
I got a side job I could go to if I want while I'm furloughed. Got enough saved to pay all my bills for 2 years (always put something on the side since I was out of work for a year one time).
Using the free time to do things I have been putting off for a long time. Learning to invest now too. Studying charts every day now. Glad I don't have kids :feedme:, I wouldn't be able to do any of those things if I did. All you people that got families going through this, I hope it works out for you (hope at least 1 person in your household is able to work). :salute:
