@bigdennisuk
your prob right...... i cant knock jay for dumbing down the music most artist had to change .....look @
cam first album how he was spitting then we got to dipset oobie dooobie foobie wooobie lines and he blew up

...... but jay became big to a point where he could have kept that bar raised and set the bars direction but like most entertainers/athletes when they get to a comfortable space they want to keep it.. thats why i respect nas and 5o.......nas makes the music he wants and 50 is more savvy....he capitalizes on opportunities but both pretty much has stayed with his core music which takes guts imo when its not the "popular" sound to jump on and you have no fux given about the status quo of dikkriding and popular opinion we have seen in the game the last 4 or 5 years
Yep.
Jay didnt even think kanye was good enough to promote when he was on his label, but nowadays it's all watch the throne and shyt, didnt they even do a trap style song on that album
Another embarrassing thing jay does is jump on popular artist songs without permission, remember amy winehouse saying she never authorised his remix of rehab, like
Nas went and done distant relatives (which I think is a top notch album), I don't even know how that album came about, but I can only think it was from musical respect from each artist, cos it certainly wasn't commercial appeal.
Like I say, it ain't about hating on jay, but he's snoop status to me at this point, I'm surprised he hasn't done a song with David guetta.
But fukk it, he's a hustler not a rapper, he always said that
