I'll repost this as its relevant:
"There it is. Thats also what made him so real, gave him global appeal and an influence that stands to this day. People related and still do. Like lemonade.
Easily the most authentic. Pac showed you how it was, in the moment:
2Pacalypse Now was "I'm trying to find my lane in the rap game".
Strictly 4 My Nz screamed "Did you know I hate the police? By the way F the police".
Thug Life intoned "I'm on on now so here are my friends, they deserve some attention and dividends so I'll use my name to shine a light on em".
Me Against The World relayed "I didn't know the price of fame was so expensive. The walls are closing in and the drugs aren't working. Send help".
All Eyez On Me said "Its a celebration bishes! Look at me and my riches, come party with me and brings friends. You're all welcome".
Makaveli growled "I'm alone. Its dark. I've just realized the price of this path and can see the end of the map but have to keep on steppin".
This is what I meant about people only tracing his worst aspects and ignoring the best because that takes skills and strengths they don't possess and push the pen with such realness in a way that still sells, gets spins and sell concerts tickets.
That takes a heck of a lot of talent that the Hennessy and Enemies crowd willingly miss and gloss over to downplay his accomplishments."
Its amazing how raw and authentic his albums were because we wove so much of himself and his own life experience between the papers lines. The paranoia and hopelessness on MATW is almost palpable as its the precursor twin to Makaveli in that respect. Truly one of the greatest artists in any genre to have pushed a pen.
Also, the mixing and mastering on this joint was impeccable and still sounds crisp to this day.
