Corporate killed him worse than the bullets with all the ish they did but his name still rings bells to this day and those who rep, rep because this man has a track for every mood
When I was in high school some dude in front of me said this and it made sense.. He said Pac has a song for everybody and he was right.....

"His lawyers say he had connections, ----but wouldn't say what kind, that could provide top notch security for the injured rapper"

There really isn't because he so frequently spoke from the heart about the human condition in a way that was so relatable. Thats why his message is still relevant. Heck this:

Is more potent now than it was then due to the artificial reality and image building that is endemic to those who live on the web.

I'll repost this as its relevant:

"There it is. Thats also what made him so real, gave him global appeal and an influence that stands to this day. People related and still do. Like lemonade.

Easily the most authentic. Pac showed you how it was, in the moment:

2Pacalypse Now was "I'm trying to find my lane in the rap game".
Strictly 4 My Nz screamed "Did you know I hate the police? By the way F the police".
Thug Life intoned "I'm on on now so here are my friends, they deserve some attention and dividends so I'll use my name to shine a light on em".
Me Against The World relayed "I didn't know the price of fame was so expensive. The walls are closing in and the drugs aren't working. Send help".
All Eyez On Me said "Its a celebration bishes! Look at me and my riches, come party with me and brings friends. You're all welcome".
Makaveli growled "I'm alone. Its dark. I've just realized the price of this path and can see the end of the map but have to keep on steppin".

This is what I meant about people only tracing his worst aspects and ignoring the best because that takes skills and strengths they don't possess and push the pen with such realness in a way that still sells, gets spins and sell concerts tickets.

That takes a heck of a lot of talent that the Hennessy and Enemies crowd willingly miss and gloss over to downplay his accomplishments."

Its amazing how raw and authentic his albums were because we wove so much of himself and his own life experience between the papers lines. The paranoia and hopelessness on MATW is almost palpable as its the precursor twin to Makaveli in that respect. Truly one of the greatest artists in any genre to have pushed a pen.

Also, the mixing and mastering on this joint was impeccable and still sounds crisp to this day.

That’s what makes it so haunting. It’s like a farewell letter before death. If I Die 2Nite, Lord Knows, fukk the World, and Death Around the Corner projected the paranoia and anger while It Ain’t Easy, Temptations, Shed so Many Tears, and Dear Mama attempted to humanize and contextualize the madness while Young nikkaz, Heavy in the Game, and Me Against the World brought a more hopeful message to the young people that were listening to his words.

It was perfect in that it didn’t just represent a “dark” album it was a very human album imo. We saw both the brilliance and tragedy of a young man encapsulated not just in this album but in, as you say, it’s twin album Makaveli.

Chea, the parallels between MATW and 7DT are immense as well as totally contrasted because the former is still lavish and jazzy in production as well as finely polished whereas the latter is breathlessly rushed and raw in essence to capture the last message whilst living as the clock was ticking. Content links so well though because there are many thematic parallels as both releases bookend the celebration captured in studio sessions that was AEOM.

Many rappers say it but Pac truly lived a movie and documented his own flick using his albums as soundtracks to the scenes that were happening.

With all this extra stressin'
The question I wonder is after death, after my last breath
When will I finally get to rest through this oppression?
They punish the people that's askin' questions
And those that possess steal from the ones without possessions
The message I stress: to make it stop, study your lessons
Don't settle for less, even the genius asks his questions
Be grateful for blessings
Don't ever change, keep your essence
The power is in the people and politics we address
Always do your best, don't let this pressure make you panic
And when you get stranded
And things don't go the way you planned it
Dreamin' of riches, in a position of makin' a difference
Politicians are hypocrites, they don't wanna listen
If I'm insane, it's the fame made a brother change
It wasn't nothin' like the game; it's just me against the world

:wow:

That verse got me through the hardest moments in my life and always reaffirmed my path in life. Most timeless shyt I ever heard. :wow:

You could take his catalogue and put it against any other rapper, living or dead, and I'd be willing to bet he has more hits in more lanes than the rest and, best of all, they all sound authentic with none of that forced pandering or fake introspection from someone who prefers gun talk and flipping bricks.

Thats what makes him the best rounded rapper as he had depth to his lyrics and mixed in substance with the ignorance that kept you thinking plus he always spat some real ish.
He’s still among the most streamed artists today in 2023. His greatest hits album is still on the billboard hot 100. His music will never die.
