I'm only doing this because of that last jab u took. Otherwise I woulda stayed quiet.
Before Hot97 changed formats Kiss and BLS did play "I get Around" and "Keep Ya Head up" pretty heavy. I'll never forget summer 93.
Also....Hot 97 did play "Dear Mama" heavy when it dropped and they even played the MATW album cut "Old School"(I'll never forget early 95)
But they didnt play sh*t from AEOM or Makeveli Nor did they play anything from his first album. (I wasnt in NY from 98-2001 Like that so I cant speak on his post albums....)
1st off... Kiss & BLS were like 65% R&B 35% hip hop
and since 'keep ur head' up 'i get around' were considered somewhere between solid --to-- pretty good hip hop songs back then
i can guarantee they got played 2 MAYBE 3 times a day on them stations
and by '95
HOT97 was essentially bad boy radio
so u know he wasnt getting any play on there ('dear momma' got its 1or 2 spin(s) per day on those segments that was the count down of the top rap songs on the chart
just like MATW was his 1st platinum album {april '95}
dear momma was his 1st number 1 song on rap billboard {mid '95}
funny how he got these achievements just months after he started beefing with 'Mr You Know Who'

we can debate about that later
Pac took the initiative more so than the east coast lames he was battling

) and decided to try his hand at high fashion.
