That dude is definitely a mixed bag. Some things he's said I believe are accurate based on other things people in the past have said and other things are completely ridiculous.
But it's not what he's said it's what he is reporting other people are saying. Of course, people can be lying or embellishing. We witness Fat Joe swear up and down that his stories are true and most people call Cap.

If you can't verify information you report you aren't a good biographer imo.

In the American public imagination we've been constructed as underdeveloped. The idea of us having vast dynamic even conflicting characteristics is unacceptable. We're not living out the spectrum of humanity. We're acting

Im not interested in hearing a white boy try to dissect hood shyt. Its wack when yall do it here and it'll be wack in that book

Thing is, if people dont agree with anything that is being said there isnt enough verification in the world that can convince them otherwise if the one person who could truly verify a story is dead.

So essentially since Pac isnt here, any tidbit that one disagrees with can to some degree be considered unverified.

So you go from saying Pac was many things. To choosing to decide on your own that one of those parts "wasnt really him":mjlol:

We have plenty of interviews of Pac speaking for himself, and eye witness accounts that give Pac fans a pretty clear view of what he was, As well as his positives and negatives.

Plus your acting like you dont know this cracka is framing it as though Pac was a fraud and phony. Something that is generally looked down on across the board in the hiphop community. Yet you wanna act like this is exclusive to Pac fans smh. Anybody calling out Jay,Nas,Big,Cube for their actions, history or music not matching up,are liable to get rebuttals from fans who say different. And those fans have way less info about those nikkas than we have on Pac.

Saying he couldnt fight? Possibly true. But he definitely would fight which means he was tough. Not to mention the son of a Panther smh. Could he shoot? We have video evidence that says he was a decent shot unless this cac is Clint Eastwood himself.

Pac explained who he was and what most "thugs" are very well. He talked about his drug and alcohol abuse, which many of our youth fall victim too. And he said he was sensitive, and his sensitive side would blow up his hard side. If most of thr people considered thugs went to therapy, this would be the root of most of their behavior. Only reason it may seem any different is because they may not be eloquent or vulnerable enough to express it. But most "thugs" are just sensitive dudes who also abuse drugs and alchohol. Folks wanna bash Pac for being much more than that, while also being that

So essentially YOUR the one who would rather limit Pac to being a mindless thug. Because it would make it easier for you to comprehend a complex well rounded individual. Dont put thet on Pac fans:respect:
A broken clock :ohhh:

Just bought the book. I don't feel comfortable talking about something I haven't read. Just because I enjoy his sports books, doesn't mean he did a good job with Tupac.

That's not true.

There has NEVER in the history of time been a biography or documentary in which everyone agrees the entirety of the material presented is 100% true.

That dude Ken Burns be turning over every leaf when making his 10 part PBS documentaries, and its people out there saying this or that isnt true.

You cant "verify" shyt with Pac at this point in time. We have countless peers of his who were on his record labels, the people who were around him the most, calling each other liars when it comes to certain stories. So if at one point in time 3 people were together and did whatever, years later one dies, and the other two tell conflicting stories on their time together, how can you verify what happened during that period? All you can do is report what appears to be the most truthful with the info you have.

Funny thing is the same thing is EASILY done for Cac Legends too.

Some of the people cacs put on a pedestal have done questionable things too despite their status and reverence.
Payton Manning the perfect example

I’m only up to Baltimore, and my main takeaway is that I just feel sorry for Pac.

The fact that his classmates first impression of Pac was that he smelled bad and had fukked up teeth, genuinely made me feel emotional. He was really living like Dukie from The Wire. We’re not reading about 2Pac, the superstar, no, this is just about a gifted, yet seriously emotionally neglected and abused child.

And to top it off, the instant he starts to find some friends and acceptance at the art school, he feels confident enough to bring friends over to meet his hero…only for them open the front door, and see her smoking crack and cuss them out. :mjcry::mjcry:

In one of the footnotes, it‘s mentioned that his sister (finally) started going to therapy considering the life she’s had, and the first thing that she told her therapist was that they had rats. :francis:

Yeah, I mentioned it earlier, both of those kids had it far worse than I thought and his sister had it worst of all. Heartbreaking.

One of my takeaways right now is I think Pac literally manifested his mom getting clean and sober and painted her maybe better than she deserved in Dear Mama. I think on Dear Mama the TV show I believe his aunt said the song was a little "aspirational" and I totally get it now. As someone with an alcoholic father, I couldn't make that happen and I don't feel bad because it's almost impossible to get someone to quit unless they want to do it. I think Tupac finally made her want to quit.
