Breh, that was also the height of Prohibition, when the streets were being run by some of the biggest gangsters in our history. If you kept reading you'd see that trend didn't hold - not only did violent crime start dropping the moment prohibition ended (even though people had been unemployed even longer at that point), but other times of economic struggle weren't matched by rises in violent crime at all, while other times of economic prosperity still had lots of crime.

Imagine him using his "But the flu killed more people since October!" logic in other major events.Nothing worse on a message board than a bad troll, and @Henry Broadnax is one of the worst. Just an emotional ping pong ball bouncing around in an empty skull, yelling "CAC" and "c00n" at every impact![]()

Imagine him using his "But the flu killed more people since October!" logic in other major events.
Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on New Orleans: "How many people did it kill in Florida? Just 14? If you go back to June 1 there's more people who have died of heatstroke than that! Why would you evacuate the city? Everyone should maintain business as usual until we have confirmed reports that people in New Orleans are dying in large numbers."
Fukushima nuclear plant has a meltdown: "You really want hundreds of thousands of people to abandon their homes just because of a factory explosion? How many people died in the explosion? Really, more people die of sushi poisoning than that! Have everyone stay in their homes and go to work as usual until we have a few thousand or so radiation deaths."
German troops are advancing on France in 1914: "You say German troops are coming? But they haven't killed anyone yet? Come on, how many Frenchmen have the Germans ever killed? The British have killed far more Frenchmen than that. Let's ignore them."
Ignorant ass fools.![]()
Im not even mad, im trying to understand. I think back to the Spanish flu and how one city got wrecked after a celebration for the war and another made it out better for lockdown.
If people just want to roll the dice and do business as usual, I wish they would say it. Dont quote stats about another virus, say with your chest that keeping it business as usual is preferred. Working in IT, people dont notice us until things go wrong, but bytch and moan about patches and downtime when we are trying to prevent the worst.
If the world us screaming “this is an issue, look what happened to us” then anyone who doesnt want to follow suit doesnt care about the virus and should just say so.

Ignorant ass fools.
Yep, some of them were in here telling people to stay inside. Here is the aftermathhandful of people on this very board posted they got laid off last week. werent you reading?

Every time people have made obvious rebuttals to your points, you refuse to engage the rebuttals and post the same shyt you had already posted. You won't even quote the rebuttals or reply to their points in any way. And your point is so incredibly stupid, and so easily refuted, that it leads people to believe you are a troll. Since you have a long history are making points like this, we're coming to believe that you're a habitual troll. So far in this topic, I have did nothing but post my opinion and even facts from the CDC, and I have not engaged in any trolling. Meanwhile @GinaThatAintNoDamnPuppy! @surf @Rhakim have disparaged me and called me names.
I just wanted to make note that I am not trolling, and since people rather juelz in regards to my post or call me names, Im not to blame for the thread going left. Im doing what you are supposed to do in a topic: engage in discussion, if you don't like what I say you can ignore me I promise I don't give a shyt![]()
They are perfect analogies with @Henry Broadnax's current argument. If they fail at some level he has to show that. So far his ONLY argument that he keeps repeating incessantly is that the flu had killed more Americans since October 2019. He ignores the precedent in Italy and Spain, he ignores American deaths from coronavirus only started a couple weeks ago, he ignores that 3/4 of the coronavirus deaths have come in the last 4 days and the daily death rate is accelerating rapidly. These are terrible analogies.
Wasn’t the whole issue of the hold up of the bill was because unemployment insurance was going to pay people more money being on UI then they would of had they been working?

If he has a better argument he should make it. Right now his argument is exactly as stupid as those analogous arguments would be.
So numbers are only convenient when YOU use them. Again, don't @ me with your long ass post.I can calculate it pretty easily. How much does unemployment pay per week in your state?for folks that make $10 an hour maybe...
