And I believe the responsibility should be on the employers to pay people a livable wage, and not the responsibility of the actual workers.

It shouldn't fall on the middle class tax payers to compensate low wage earners when their employers can afford to pay more.

Tax paying citizens shouldn't be forced to pay a basic income just to allow more freedom for companies to keep hoarding money.
Tax payers already subsidize the low wages, and the negative tax would be a relief.

this is the real problem here. minimum wage jobs are supposed to be a temporary thing while you get something else going. you're not supposed to try to buy a house and feed 2 brats off a god damn fast food or parking lot job

A 31-year-old woman who works part time at a Dollar Tree store in Seattle’s University District said the bump to $13 in January has helped her pay her rent and not have to visit the food bank as often.

$13 to work at Dollar Tree? :dahell:
Unless u went from working minimum wage to making a livable wage miss me with all this bootstrap bullshyt.

The lower down you are on the socioeconomic totem pole the harder it is to move up. These are facts. I guarantee everyone in here with a degree and professional job grew up middle class and pretty much had an easy lane to get to where they are now. It's a whole different ball game breh.

Explain how it would be a relief? I can't possibly see that costing less than current welfare.

Tax payers covering low wages is the problem. It should be the employers subsidizing low wages.

You wanna give free money to the poor and allow the elite to gut the economy.
