Negative income tax - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Negative income taxes can implement a basic income or supplement a guaranteed minimum income system.
Should change the word 'can' to must, right?

With that logic we should do away with all jobs and outsource everything![]()
Ok...so let's eliminate competitionCompetition naturally drives wages down.

This is really about the cost of living
Shouldnt owners have the ability to set whatever price they feel like they deserve? Isn't that letting the market fix itself?
It just shows the problems with a free market, greedy people can't be left in charge of what someone should be earning and paying because they have an inability to see past current profits.
These are the same people that gutted wages while rising the cost of everything, then wonder why people can't afford cable these days. And their only solution create monopolies so people have no choice but to do business with them.
These people aren't even spending the money, it's being hoarded at a rediculous rate. Money owned by the wealthy is basically money permanently removed from the market.

You can't talk about the cost of living while caping for complete deregulation.
you claim the government shouldn't be able to dictate wages, so why should they be allowed to tell someone what they can charge for housing and product?
They shouldn'tBut you said the problem is with the cost of living not minimum wage. You said there are better solutions than fixing minimum wage. So how do you address the cost of living which you admit is the real problem? You don't believe in regulations so what should be done to kick start the economy and get the wealthy to start reinvesting those stacks of cash back into the economy. They shouldn't
You like to talk about your libertarian views but anytime your asked for detail of how it would work, you post a gif or smilie to dodge the questions.

The cost of living today is artificially inflated in no small part by the state. But you said the problem is with the cost of living not minimum wage. You said there are better solutions than fixing minimum wage. So how do you address the cost of living which you admit is the real problem?
A better solution in my opinion would be a negative income tax(basic income) and a removal of nearly all labor regulations.
The pendulum isnt(and shouldnt) going to swing completely either way in America. I think a basic income beneath a freer market is the best compromise. So deregulation with some socialist ideas for the people that get left out? Most likely paid for by taxing the remaining labor force.
Your talking about basically handing the keys to the elite and letting the government regulate welfare expansion.
Isn't socialism the opposite of libertarian views?
And I believe the responsibility should be on the employers to pay people a livable wage, and not the responsibility of the actual workers. The pendulum isnt(and shouldnt) going to swing completely either way in America. I think a basic income beneath a freer market is the best compromise.
