The Traps of Unified Korea
he only won the 200 once and the 400 twice(dont nobody give a shyt about them relays)

96 was his only great year and he let Donavan Bailey shyt on him right after that

I'm sorry, any year you win an Olympic gold medal is a great year. He set the WR in the 400 three years after his "only great year" (still hasn't been broken) and eight years after his first world championship.

He was the man for damn near a decade. There is no falling off fast as fukk in that.

Johnson was nice in the 200 and 400 not the 100 and he fell off fast as fukk

edit: dont ever mention him in the same breathe as Carl the gawd :pacspit:
:wtf:

Michael Johnson was the best 200 and 400 meter sprinter for 9 years.

No one has dominated their event like Edwin Moses did the 400 hurdles tho. Indisputable.

As for the doc, :wow:

excellent documentary. Just incredible, im convinced they all cheated except too sweet Calvin Smith.

And Reincar has lost his mind defending Ben Johnson against the allegations even though he readily admitted to using steroids.:russ:

Carl Lewis was bigger than Michael Jordan, Joe Montana, Magic Johnson, etc. at the time bro.

nah, this is untrue

he only won the 200 once and the 400 twice(dont nobody give a shyt about them relays)

96 was his only great year and he let Donavan Bailey shyt on him right after that
just be real, you only watch track during the olympics.

Ben Johnson got out the blocks quick though..... I guess he just kicked into high gear quicker than everyone else. You gotta respect that, especially if you ran track.

Ya'll keep quoting me upset because I said he was bigger than those guys but if it wasn't true then it was incredibly close. How old are ya'll? Up until Michael Phelps Carl Lewis was generally thought of as the greatest American Olympian of all time. Michael Jordan is my favorite player of all time in any sport but he was a young player that hadn't made it out of the eastern conference. Magic was a star but the nba wasn't as popular as it became in the 90s with a slightly older Michael Jordan. The nfl also wasn't as popular as it was today. Once again, Carl Lewis was more popular than Jordan at the time and at the VERY LEAST was on par with Montana and Magic. This is actually pretty ludicrous to argue against. This is widely known. I feel like I'm arguing with teenagers in this thread to be honest. Must be why ya'll can only reply with smilies...

all of this is just bullshyt.

Carl Lewis was a bigger international star than an American star.

also, yes you are biased.

Mary Lou Retton was the star of the 1984 games in America, while Carl Lewis had to do shyt like this to get attention

I'm well into my 20s and Carl Lewis was never as popular as Wayne Gretzkey. Magic etc. That's ludicrous. Magic Johnson was making over 5 million in endorsements in the 80s. He had the shoe deal with converse, a shytty game on NES which I used to own, I think Magic was doing ads for coca cola and McDonald's too. What was Carl Lewis marketing? Queen greatest hits cds?

Carl lewis got a few magazine covers and shyt but he was never popping like any of the athletes you mentioned.

And props to the posters above me shouting out Michael Johnson. I'd @ u guys but I'm on my phone. Michael Johnson was dominant.

Carl Lewis - Break It Up - YouTube

Whatever you say dude. I call people out on the bullshyt and ya'll go and move the goalposts to something opinion based because ya'll don't have counter arguments. Dude was as big as any American sports star at the time. For some reason that irks ya'll but it was true. You say I'm biased probably because of my avi. Perhaps I know a couple of people that were close to the situation that know a hell of a lot more than everyone in here...
