Dope album. Went 5x platinum after its release.

Can anyone name an r&b singer who can go 5x platinum today? I didn't think so.

Anita was selling the equivalent to what Taylor Swift is selling today. Think about that for a minute, then ask yourself what the hell happened to the music industry?

The Internet. Best and worst thing to happen to music. Sad reality is only white British soul singers could make an album like Rapture today and still sell a lot of units

In the Silver Lining
man as a kid..caught up in the rapture was that knock :ohlawd:

That joint is one of those songs you know a lot of folks got conceived too. It even reminds of being a youngin. For some reason, I think of 30 somethings middle class black folks in Eastern North Carolina starting families, building/buying homes, creating businesses, and getting good jobs in the late 80s/early 90s. Just that mature fresh classy sound to her whole catalog back then that was played on the radio.

Janelle Monae and her look alike.
