But I know a few people who became tax consultants with an arts degree just on the strength of the school name and networking. And I know a few people with engineering, physics and math degrees who have only been able to get gigs as substitute teachers

Honestly, you will be better off working on your own business and passing that down to your kids. The fact that these kids are leaving college with a house note in return for a relatively weak job tells you the scam that is most of college. Sure there are a few fields that you can study to make a lot of money, but not everyone is built for that.

Yeah, I think the point that I was trying to get across is that outside of a few specialized majors...most people with just an UG degree don't end up working in the field that they're degreed in. Usually you have to get in where you fit in and then figure out where your career is heading

They set you up for failure and brainwash you to feel like you must go to college, and if you don’t have a scholarship, then just take out the loans. The thing that sets u up is a lot of schools dont have student housing for Grad students so u take out a student loan that not considered a federal student loan
And instead a personal loan that u only qualify for cause u a student


To pay for housing


And u can take out a huge amount and have to cause u need to pay for housing and cost of living



I did a year of law school before going into the army

My loan was exactly for that too

Luckily i not only got a 20k bonus going into the Army but also student loan repayment
