The year Peyton won his first Super Bowl, 2006, that playoff run was four games and he threw 3 touchdown passes against 7 interceptions. Let that sink in---->the Colts made it to and won the Super Bowl off the strength of great coaching and gameplanning, and great situational defense. They won the Super Bowl in a stretch where he threw more than twice as many picks as touchdowns...
The part missing from Dave Roberts in comparison to Tony Dungy that year is great situational management. Kershaw's your star but you have to put him in the best position to succeed, and give your team the best chance to win. Putting Kershaw in, in that moment, accomplished neither, whereas Dungy in '06 repeatedly gave the Colts opportunity to win despite Peyton once again playing down in the postseason...
We don't even have to go too far in depth about Manning's second chip. He was no longer in his prime, was benched during the season, couldn't throw the ball downfield, and the Broncos won with him completing only 55% of his throws and being a game manager...
Lol so yeah, don't give me the "he won two Super Bowls" thing. Peyton is a true GOAT and a legend and was a thrill to watch--->in the regular season. He's the worst playoff QB ever of any QB that gets whispered as GOAT tier, outside the Super Bowl runs, he had plenty of bad games...
If Kershaw had greater situational management, he'd have a championship too. He is the baseball version of Peyton Manning...
