Yeah I said it. He’s better than Bonds, Rodriguez, Aaron, Mays, Ruth, Williams (Ted) and Cobb.
I hated him in 1995 when he scored the winning run against the Yankees in that ALDS. What a great series, though.
BTW, you would think Griffey won the ROY considering he was so good, so young. But in 1989 he actually finished 3rd, behind Gregg Olson and Tom Gordon.
By 1991, though, he was already a top 10 positional player in the game.
If Nike re-imagined the top shoe and just changed it slightly, I could see it being a big seller today.
He's not better than josh gibson, a-rod, joe dimaggio or mickey mantle.
Frank Thomas slimmed down crazy
The Griffey 1 still is a big seller. Everytime it retros that shyt is sold out everywhere
Those griffey 1s or 2s freshwaters
Thread title is Facts
Griffey's marketing and starpower was all Nike. Would have thought he was in the NBA.
Shoes, video games, commercials.
It's crazy no one in baseball today even comes close.
Who is even the biggest star in baseball currently? There's not anyone with even a fraction of the coolness or marketability as Griffey...the idea of baseball player with a popular signature shoe sounds absurd today
That's my childhood idol
Had a young PCP with a buncha Seattle gear
Then a buncha Reds gear. Them was the sad days
