So I'm a heavy Sketchup user considering my job so if any people need some advice, tips or anything, I can provide. I'm not a an expert but I use it quite efficiently. I thought about using 3DS Max during a year a few years ago but I missed the easiness of Sketchup and my habits with it then came back and stuck with it ever since.
If you use it, there is a great way to display your creations online now, which is named sketchfab (example not from me) :
Ford Shelby GT 500 1967 Custom (click to view in 3D)
Essential sites for anyn sketchup use :
http://www.sketchupartists.org/
http://sketchucation.com/
http://www.sketchuptexture.com/
http://www.smustard.com/
By the way, is anybody here in the rendering business ?
I coupled Sketchup with Maxwell Render 3/4 years ago (when all my mates were with Artlantis) but been slowly moving to Vray for a few months now. I'm still in the learning process and I don't find that software as ergonomic as Maxwell but I appreciate its speed which is the key in rendering software when one has mastered material creation (which is not my case
)
I'm trying to decide which software will be the best between all the existing ones above all with new ones like Shaderlight, Thea render (which seems really good) or Twilight.
