bet u would be singing a different tune if 50 had a company buy a million copies of his album first week:sas2:

:what::camby:this has nothing to do with 50, and if he was smart he'd do the same thing. where's his album tho? :sas2:he forgot about his music fans, matter of fact he don't give a shyt about them.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
getting a platinum in this day and age is like celebrating getting a toy in a happy meal :mjlol:
Except none of these new nikkas go platinum :mjlol:

They out here on EVERY streaming site, plus physicals, and doing 40k first week

But let me guess. Labels only doing that for 5 artists and letting the rest starve

A sad truth but I'll say it. Jay will only release albums on tidal first week because he knows he can't go platinum off of physical and iTunes and mp3 sales alone anymore. He knows this so he did the tidal thing to ensure his popularity and his brand which is smart but at the same time, he's acting like people don't know what's he's really doing. He can't go gold because obviously that would ruin his name. He doesn't have a single album that is less than platinum so a gold album is a bruise on his ego.

So this wasn't even fake streaming. Worse, pre bought albums by Sprint

Hov gets props for the quality of the album but not this :mjlol:

He should get props to whatever extent any artist gets props for selling records...the deal isn't struck if Jay's music didn't have the demand and popularity to make it worth sprint's while... having a corporation subsidize the cost of your music for yours fans is pretty much a win-win for all parties involved, assuming there's not some undue influence being put on the artist by outside corporate interests... I say this in pretty much every thread where people are confused and angry of these RIAA certifications, and there's an ever evolving list of shyt that have cats on here bewildered bout these plaques... but basically, people seem not to understand what shyt like "gold" and "platinum" is supposed to measure...they're milestones of consumption and revenue generated... in that context, it doesn't make much difference if sprint bought a bunch of 444 albums (in the form of d/l vouchers that they give sprint customers that want the album) or if my uncle bought Vol 2 for me and gave it to me for my birthday

I love how miserable this album is making certain cats

funny thing is, if jay had made another album of the normal rap tropes hes touched on so many times before, the same cats woulda prolly still been hating on him for not using his platform to move the culture forward or try something new
