Mamdani won the Jewish vote in NY and is vocally anti-Israel (to the extent that Palestinians having equal rights is anti-Israel). The problem is the lobbying of AIPAC and similar groups that make it difficult.
I'm not going to act like an expert so just thinking out loud with you. But Israel wouldn't care that much about a politician not in congress since they don't have much bearing on foreign affairs. But best believe if Mandani wants anything done he can't just shyt on the Jews. I'm sure he gave them some concessions in the community on the low already.

Not really. I think a lot of people conflate Jews in general as universally aligned with Israel and that's not the case. From what I've read most Jews in the U.S. do not support the genocide going on in Gaza or it's occupation. Again the lobbying groups like AIPAC allow a much smaller group of Jews with a lot of money to influence policy in favor of Israel.

That is true from my understanding as well. But Israel's influence in the state goes way past their local community. For example NYPD fly to Israel and train them etc. like you said AIPAC has more influence than the local citizens. He might not support giving them any thing that helps their genocide directly. But if he wants to get anything done he has to bend the knee somewhat
