The playoff numbers don't mean much without context. Iverson was surrounded by trash, he led literally the worst team to ever play in the NBA finals. D Wade had prime Shaq, had a 15 win season, then kept getting knocked out the first round with a talented team. Then he played with Lebron.
If Iverson played with Shaq his percentages would look a lot better.
Iverson led the league in steals, passing lane or not that's still defense. Wade never did that. Blocking shots as a 2 guard because you're leaving your man to go help or getting blown by and have to chase them down is overrated. Wade is famous for getting burned on back door cuts Bc he's looking to leave his guy and block a shot.
Eye test tells me Iverson night and night out was a more dominant player and dynamic player
Prime Shaq?
Did you nikkas actually watch the Heat?
I'm gonna post these playoffs numbers and I want you to tell me who you think is clearly better.
13.9 PPG (49%) / 13.7 REB / 3.1 BLKS /.7 AST (1.6 TOV) / .7 STLs
Vs
18.4 PPG (61%) / 9.8 REB / 1.5 BLKS / 1.7 AST (3.7 TOV) / .5 STL
Even if you think Shaq is better, this isn't some clear cut victory in his favor. Mutumbo was better on the boards, a DPOTY and most impactful presence on a team that won games on their defensive strength, much less turnover prone, and still a consistent scorer.
You're acting like Wade hasn't put seasons comparable with Iverson's best when playing with bums.
You point out Iverson having weak teammates but don't mention that Wade had knee and shoulder surgery before that season so he came in late and then missed 30 games that season.
Dude was playing on a bum knee and needed months of rehabilitation plus the Miami Heat roster was extremely injured overall. Wade came back the next year, healed, and finished 3rd in MVP voting (Under Bron and Kobe).
Wade was a 3x All NBA 2nd defensive team player and lost out to Bruce Bowen and Kobe both those years. Prime Wade was an elite defensive player and you cherry picking defensive lowlights during the later years of his career is disingenuous and pathetic.
Wade's best seasons are clearly better than Iverson. Wade's all-around game and overall impact on both sides of the court is better than Iverson. Wade consistently performers better against playoff/good defenses than Iverson does.
Wade is better. He scores similar on much higher efficiency while being more impactful in every other single aspect of basketball (Playmaking, defense, rebounding, basketball IQ, etc).
You can talk as much crap as you want about Wade's defense, he's still MUCH better than Iverson. You mention Iverson's steals but act like Curry didn't just lead the league in steals too over much better and more impactful defenders.
Your eye test means shyt because you completely disregard anything that isn't scoring while ignoring that Wade scored slightly lower than Iverson on vastly higher efficiency and in less minutes.
