IMO, $1k isn't really enough to have to worry about being "responsible" unless you're heavily in debt or something.
Just enjoy it.

Everybody should have a couple thousand put away for emergencies; car blowing up, etc. Money is power. When you've got that safety net, it frees you up to make moves (like quitting a job) that most pople wouldn't be able to risk taking.

trying to be responsible, but as a corporate breh whose been working 12-14 hrs the past few weeks... i'm about to just go spend that in Vegas or Frisco with the squad for NYE

As a person who works those hours the only people who can find something and do it again are people who have done.
Go spend frivolously and enjoy your life.

it's a good way to be.
I've got money now and I'm still frugal.
But you still gotta splurge on yourself every so often.
