just for those unaware, the NFL players union did get one win by forcing teams to have a MONEY floor rather than a cap floor. that means players gotta get PAID a certain amount, as in actual money, every year rather than there just being a cap floor where teams can meet it even with cap hits influencing it and stuff.

if teams don't make that money spent floor then they gotta pay whatever money they didn't spend to the union and they'll distribute it to the players.

how many years did he have left on his rookie contract, 3 yrs?..........getting payed scraps compared to what your true value is while potentially continuing to degrade your health and sanity..........i could see why he felt he had no incentives to keep playing:yeshrug:he must have some surefire cushy investments and gigs to be risking all that potential guap though........at the end of the day its what ever makes him happy and secure...
Yeah had three years, but I believe he could have renegotiated in two years. If you are concerned about your health money shouldn't be an issue. It's like in his mind he can be rich and fukked up later on. He didn't want to risk that. Can't fault him for that, it's a violent game. Everybody is juicing in some sort of way also. These players are way more faster and stronger than the ones back in the day.

Uncertain grounds
You really think somebody can live the rest of their life off 500k? :pachaha:

its not like hes going to be unemployed. thats not a bad sum of cash to "start" off with. maybe he gets an assisting coaching job or something out of the sport and saves/invests wisely.

Only I way I can see is if they do one of those mini homes thing. You know it looks like a home but is like 100 sq ft. shyt is disgusting to me. It has no plumbing, I let you google what they do.

Anyways. He would have to be good investor with the 820k he will roughly receive after taxes. If he does work, he can be virtuously debt free. Act like he is paying a mortgage and a car note, but that money would be going to a interest and/or money market account and IRA account. He would be way more comfortable than like 95% of the population.

Jake Locker and P Willy don't have to work anymore in their life though.

I'm not saying this is happening because Harbaugh left, but it is a weird coincidence to say the least.

Any union with nuts would shut that shyt down. NFLPA tucked their tails because they couldn't feel their families. :mjlol:

The players Could have Abolish the Franchise Tag and Expedited a raise in the salary cap in return the owners got some the revenue back.

NFLPA is the worst. :heh:

I'm pretty sure theres a correlation between head trauma and terrible decisions
