There’s mad cultural differences between Brooklyn and Uptown. I swear to God before 2012 I never heard nobody even mention a chopped cheese before. It was that 40 Oz Van/Desus and Mero (uptown nikkas) wave in 2013 that had the whole world screaming “YERRR” and traveling across the seven seas to NYC for chopped cheeses

Yo also, “bodega” is some uptown shyt. The word even sounds like some Spanish shyt. Nobody calls corner stores bodegas in BK or Queens

FOH!!! I been calling bodegas bodegas in Brooklyn since 1985, wtf! Are you from Brooklyn?

Facts, Brooklyn all my life and never heard of chopped cheese till I started hanging in Harlem maybe 6 years ago
I’m from Brooklyn too and My boy from Queensbridge put me on to chopped cheese in 2007 when I got to high school

Bronx people always seem more low key and wary of others. When you ask them where they from they say “Bronx” under their breath and leave it at that. Also seem to be more Latin culture mixed in. Seem very loyal but difficult to read emotionally. There is definitely some pain there.

When I tell people I'm from the Bronx, I say it with my whole chest. Nothing but pride for my home borough.

Villa Straylight.
Number one biggest misconception of new yorkers is that new yorkers are rude.

New Yorkers been the friendliest people in America IMHO. When I lived there people looked out for each other.
We're only rude to people who move slow and are easily offended.

Last person i met from NY was very cool.. very pro-black

I never asked him what part though, but he put me on game about people (all races too) at my previous job.

That’s mostly been my impression too. All the ones I’ve run deal with that come up here are good people. Despite all the strays we catch on here :martin:

i was in the bx yesterday. first time in a minute and on my way home i was thinking to myself "its not that bad"

just then 2 crack heads get on the train asking random people for food. one obliged. then he asked the wrong one. short rican dude said to get the fukk outta his face or he will stab him. fiend bounced. rican dude stayed angry and started talking to himself, appalled that this fiend spoke to him.

then he offered his seat to a nurse.

cant make this shyt up.
