An Ohio man killed his girlfriend's infant daughter while she was out with her other children, fled their home immediately when she got back, then ignored the woman's texts and calls before eventually claiming her baby fell, according to prosecutors. The couple had only been dating for three months.
Glenn McIntosh, 32, is charged with murder in connection with the death of 5-month-old Ameira Reynolds on Oct. 13, according to The Columbus Dispatch. McIntosh was reportedly dating Ameira's mother, who has not been identified publicly, and was not biologically related to the child, per cops.
"You asked me to trust you and I trusted you with my baby, and you took her from me," Ameira's mom said in a statement read in court last week by prosecutors. "You killed my baby girl. My baby didn't deserve that. I can't imagine what you put her through."
Prosecutors say McIntosh had been together with Ameira's mom for about three months and was living with her on the 4000 block of Willard Brook Road in Madison Township. He was allegedly left alone with the baby while Ameira's mother went somewhere for about an hour with her two other children.
When the mom returned home, McIntosh allegedly left the residence immediately and could not be reached over the phone.
"Upon further observation, the baby was limp," Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor Shania Goble said in court last Wednesday at McIntosh's bond hearing, according to local ABC affiliate WSYX.
