That's only because of the pandemic. The bulk of their revenue come from cancer and other chronic illness treatments. They'll make a lot of money from the vaccines for a couple years, then the demand will dry-up due to herd immunity. That's why there aren't hundreds of vaccine manufacturers already.

For proof, see measles.

Cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc., last DECADES and generate billions more than vaccines for a much longer period of time.

One more thing: most of the profit goes back into the business (R&D, maintenance, payroll, etc.) so they really made about 10% of the money you see posted regarding their revenue. That's still a lot of money, but peanuts in-comparison.

Let me say this…. In regards to just Covid and the vaccine…. we haven’t even got into the boosters yet…. This is looking like a 3 year 60 billion dollar lick…. which is too hard to pass up because the money comes fast

The vaccine accounts for 17% of their revenue. 26% is from oncology, 20% from internal medicine, and 19% from hospitalization. $20 billion/yr over 3 years is nothing compared to $14 billion/yr over 10-20 years.....

Sooo yeah, it doesn’t shock me that software is huge. I expect anything technology to be up there.

So it takes the first two slots.

But the third one had me :picard::gucci::mjtf:

Da hell?!!! This shyt beat out the food and water industry, weapons industry, household products, care industry, diamonds/gold…even the fukkin OIL industry.

And during the last few years it was ranked the most profitable industry in the world. Hell I was thinking porn or something.

NOPE. It’s fukking pharmaceutical industry.

How. The. Fukk. Does the World. Spend. More. Money. On. MEDICINE. Than the actual shyt. We. Need. To. Survive…like food and water??!!

I would have guessed pharmaceuticals first honestly.
See I’m going by basic survival needs first. Food/oil/energy/housing/war or weapons for protection…

It’s also because I’ve never really been on medications like that or had any major hospital bills.
It’s like you might know something is up but to see this shyt laid out…JUST for human greed…

It’s wild to me. Food and water and shelter are the hallmarks of our existence. Now we paying more for pills than actual sustenance??!

Low key this is terrifying. I’m reading an article now about connections between FDA and Drug Industry….

My brain is melting.:mjcry:

How do we even disrupt this shyt?!!!!!!

can u post it? The fact that the FDA puts food and drug under one branch shows how connected they are. I tell my glutton friends dont look down on a weed head or alcoholic when they drinking 600 calorie liquid diabetes dunkin or starbucks daily.

one quote that stuck out to me this pandemic was a guy that survived being on the ventilator for a few months. He said the hospital bills he racked up it wouldve been better for him to have died

:ohhh:

The days of altruistic scientific drug discovery are long gone. Not sure if you heard about the Canadian scientists that first produced insulin, they didn't even want to hold the patent and eat off it. Why would you want to extort diabetics? shyts inhumane. Speaking of patents, look up how they remix the drugs ever so slightly every few years so the patents don't expire. These big drug companies don't give a flying fukk about making the world a better place.

Humanity has always had ways of cultivating food and water. Our mastery of medicine is relatively new. For pre-germ theory Humanity, a cut was damn near a death sentence for most of humanity. Or at the very less would leave you unable to work for a few weeks due to in infection. Antibiotics was created only 100 years ago....Medicine has not only extended our lifespans, it has exponentially increased our productivity.

You could argue that one of the defining characteristics of the modern era is the medicinal revolution of the the late 1800s. I'd be surprised if big pharma wasnt on this list.
