Been in a similar situation a few weeks ago. I went to this place the first time a few months prior, and this dude and his girl who was in my group did some grimey shyt by leaving 4 quarters as a tip.....mixed up in the ketchup and salt

Yeah, that shyt was when I saw it. shyt like that, I watch out who I eat with in establishments. One person associated with you who does fukked up shyt can fukk up your rep in that place.

If it is a great waitress, I will go and tip 20%. If it is a bad waitress, I will request for a change, or even go to another place.

These are general rules I follow

1. Only person getting a tip off the rip is my barber. Does a good job plus the extras get me bumped up in line when it's extra deep in the shop

2. I'll usually test you and ask "what do they recommend". If they can't answer or just say "everything is good", NO TIP. You don't even know you're own gotdamn menu so why should I tip you

3. You see my glass getting low, you refill without asking (and I only drink water so it ain't like some special shyt)

4. If you come around and not seem overbearing or seem like you're trying to rush me out. Worse thing I experience are servers who are asking me about dessert while I'm still eating my main course.

5. Last one but should be first, you bring me my check while I'm eating, you aren't getting shyt. shyts extremely rude
