Paying Kobe didn't hurt the Lakers one bit. He's the reason they they got that Time Warner deal, and he's was the biggest incentive to get season ticket holders to reup and come to games. Considering the value he's brought to the franchise, dude was underpaid.

That's the whole point breh. Lakers weren't gonna improve with or without Kobe. Lakers weren't landing any free agents in those summers either. So Kobe's contract didn't stop or stall the Lakers from being contenders.
