artists usually receive money through companies (LLC, etc), not the person itself. so if they dont spend some part of it justified by "company expenses" as a tax write off, irs will get a bigger chunk of money from the company.

Ok.. but he stayed on.. but he got hot because of the streetz. Whether keeping Supreme and Henchman in his interviews or getting shot in his bio. Dont change the narrative. Street tales made his career..

Of course his past street life is key to his success. To say it's not is foolish. Is it NECESSARY to have a past street life to be a successful artist? Of course not. Kanye, Luda, Common and a whole lot of others had successful careers without going that route. But to look back and say the streets did "nothing" for his career is silly. 85% of his music is some gangster sh!t. 100% of his tv shows are on some gangster sh!t. It's who 50 is. And an image in the entertainment business is important. In my opinion, 50 is a good, not great rapper. He probably needed to have some kind of image and backstory to help him out. Dr. Dre behind him didn't hurt either.

But I'd credit his catchy flows and hooks over THAT, by far.

You can be faux street or not street at all and sell records.

Take away being "Street" in image and I still believe 50 can still be successful. Take away being a good entertainer and he's nothing
