Maximized Potential
A lot of truth in this thread... also, don't overlook the the current state of the economy and capitalism.. The people who have the resources to truly date are busy trying to retain their spot on food chain.. The thing is, you can't just get a job and coast anymore, there's like 20 hungrier yous trying to take your spot and companies use this as leverage to keep you on your toes. That's why they let go Robert last year with no reason to fill his position because they got you taking on some(most?) of his workload.. now your 40hr weeks are now 50hr weeks and you're salary so there's no overtime compensation.. so effectively you just took a smooth paycut..
If you're in tech it's even worse, yeah those 6 certs got you 6 figures, but lesbianest.. How much time did you put in off the clock to get there? And you know the second you stop learning new shyt and keep up with tech trends the value of your skillset takes a hit..
After putting in all this work you're now a bit more tight with your resources/time.. do you really feel like paying $100 for dinner with a chick that might be wack and/or not let you smash? You just caught a lytf to the crib, got food delivered via ubereats, the next app over is tinder and both of you looking for the same thing.. so why not?
Another key point is that men and women are now rivals in the workplace fighting over the same territory, so she's putting in just as much work as you at her job trying to get this promotion so she can get her bread up so she can maintain her current lifestyle too.. contrast this to just over a half century ago where a single income could survive a family of 4, you now need double the time requirement to maintain a family of 3..
All of this will come to a head at some point in the future, but for now it's just the way the game is
