the hiring process is vigorous as hell and i dont doubt they lie on their resume but most jobs have actual problems that they give their applicants to solve, as well as expecting portfolios of what the applicant has done. its a tough process

capitalism is a race to the bottom, these corporations will never pay a person more than the bare minimum to satisfy what they need.

thats why theyre scared shytless, loss of h1-b means less supply of capable workers that the corporations can exploit

and instead of hiring within the USA, theyll just move to Asia or another country that has the h1-b program instead. These corporations do not care as long as they make maximum profit.

Yep and when shipping the jobs oversas folks forget about all the benefits to have an employee also go down. Medical, vacation and etc.

I worked at one company where we all started with 3 weeks vacation. Went to mexico to check on one of the facilities. Spoke to a few engineers and IT folks. Them kats talking about they only get 5 days vacation. That is all that they are required by mexican law. After their first year they get a extra day of vacation (extra day of vacation each year they work).

Man these companies making money hand over fist when shipping gigs overseas.

if Trump ends the H1B visa program I promise you instead of Silicon Valley hiring American Citizens, they will simply relocate to China

they dont give a fukk as long as they make money. They simply do not care about anything besides profit.

Exactly

I can understand loweage labor jobs being sent overseas. Its still greedy ass CEOs and shyt that are fukked up.

But something like high level IT? Usually that serves US citizens abd small businesses but are outsourced overseas? Thats stupid imo regardless of how many intellgent STEM people are at apple. That's because Apple is actively looking for them and they're not typical IT. They are other shyt dealing with apps, programming, etc. not really administration for small/large companies, security, etc. I'm sure they got a team for that but most these people are tech startup types... Not admin.

I've seen that shyt bomb. It happened to my mom.. Her company outsourced her entire IT department to nikkas in brazil and that shyt was s mess. They tried to get her to come back as a manager a few years later and she told them HELL No. She was very bitter and angry because she was an IT manager for like 10 years there. Bled sweated and cried for them. And now they still got to pay her retirement

I'm trying to actually go back overseas with the DOD and the DOD jobs stay hiring IT.. Especially if you have a clearance, which is something outsourced employees will never get.

Yep breh them companies full of shyt. But like my dad said years ago educated folks didn't take heed. They thought it was all good when them labor jobs got sent over seas but didn't realize that once them gigs got cut the companies were coming for the white collar jobs next.

So here we are now.

Yeah man the thing that saves folks in DoD is because that shyt is national security. Can't have some foreign national programming the flight system on some F-35.

Can't have some foreign national handling IT duties for the Air Force.

Hell certain things can't even be sold to certain countries without the blessing of congress.

Commercial sector is the wild wild west where anything goes. That also leads to fast money, but an even faster down fall.

Yep you exactly right man. A company I worked with had their IT team develop a few business systems. Enough to get the company running for like 5 years. Then sent folks to china to train IT folks on the systems.

Next they fired like 500 people in the american IT department and shipped the whole department to China.

Companion cold as hell man. Also Trump ain't gonna change that. One cause republicans are always pro companies, trump has massive business ties and what folks don't know trump actually owes millions in debt to foreign investors like the bank of China.

I program for fun, and have posted about the tech startup I may join for the summer that my friend established last year.
I also read the full article, I'd recommend you do the same.

This is the dumb shyt l see all the time out of you.

Learn one programming language, and think you know the tech sector.

Then bring up an infant start-up like that will impress real IT Specialists/Engineers.

I understanding the tech job sector because I understand the tech market, its the only microeconomic sector I've focused on through my Economics studies.
Just because you have a job, doesn't make you an expert on the job market, and the issues of immigrant labour in that job market.
The same could be said for any other profession, I know just as many people in the law and medical sectors as well.
I'm not trying to impress anyone, I was asked a question and I answered it.

The same China that would steal these American companies trade secrets then boot them out of the country? These companies aren't relocating their headquarters in a foreign country. They need the infrastructure here and access to this market.

If Trump makes good on his threat to slap tarrifs on American companies wanting to move jobs overseas then sell those same products in the US market. Outsourcing would dry up overnight.

Just because you covered the subject in class doesn't make you an expert on the tech sector either.

I've told you before to get more real world experience outside of class.

I admire you as a young black man with ambition, but stop the pretension.

Once they steal your company's secrets they use that info to start their own companies and compete against you. There are tons of American companies this has happened too already.
Exactly. And then turn around and sell it to US customers at a lower price.
I remember a story about a solar windmill company that had multi-million dollar patents and intellectual property. They were getting so much interest they had to outsource their manufacturing to China. They made sure they didn't give them access to any sensitive info and installed those components here in the US. A company mole in the US passed on all that technology to the Chinese company.
Next thing you know they effectively put them out of business by undercutting their prices.
Even the US government gave the Chinese company a multi-million dollar (100s) contract even tho they were using stolen technology that the gov is supposed to prevent:dead:

I work in IT, believe me this is very bad. My company is on a college campus and holds seminars monthly recruiting college kids and the fact is the programmers and dev teams are mostly Indians. American schools cannot produce the STEM workers of today that are needed. STEM industries are at the top in the US because of importing workers. Believe me, we had a new dev team replace our old one two years ago. The new dev team keeps fukking up and they are just as qualified as the previous one but the fact of the matter is, they didn't develop the code so it's harder to update and maintain it as a new guy coming in SO even if this does open the job market it will not guarantee same results

I think that shyt was on 60 minutes or something. Greedy Ass American Executives get played like a game of chess by tge Chinese. They steal all these American companies technology so they wont need to invest millions in R&D to create their own. and the US Government is too chicken shyt to stop it.

All these US Executives are thinking about is gaining access to the Chinese market at all costs. Not realizing that once China has all their technology they'll boot them out in favor of their own companies. And then start competing against them globally. Trump actually has a ton of support from Corporations that don't want anyone to know they support his protectionist stance against China.

But why Indian companies would rather work for US companies rather than compete against them like the Chinese do I'll never know.

Found it.

My brother's keeper
LOL, press that button and watch American R&D collapse.

It's not a Walmart, the development team can be based anywhere and have satellite offices handling marketing.

When's the last time you went down to the local Whatsapp?
