Yesterday, I was in the office and they wanted me to replace the normal microphone with some wired ones that daisy chained together and are set on the conference room tables. That shyt was not working and as I was rushing to do it, I was flooded with negative feelings about being under employed.

This morning at 7:30, the COO messaged me on Slack asking if I could change the mics. I saw his message 5 minutes ago

Spent some time this week getting Notion setup for the 1st time.

Used this video and found some additional free templates here
Scrapped this 1st iteration and found a free version of what i was looking for. (a real 2nd brain)


Spent 30 mins customizing to my liking and its setup to help me crush shyt this week

One of the more comical parts of my job is when I’m searching for pictures of what we’re going to do/who we’ll talk to and the photo service has numerous images of all-Asians as my search results:skip:

I mentioned earlier this year how I’m taking on more “complex” projects and accounts that are allegedly strategic.

So the past month or so I’ve taken on a government ish account that has a lot of upfront requirements, time, and the govt is continuously running background checks (on me!) and there’s active stuff I have to do to keep our company active for their system. (We were awarded over half a mil but have only used/“won” less than $20k). We subcontract the work itself to a former employee and have to still do all the above pretty much just to enable their biz and employees to have access. I looked at the numbers and this is 1) crazy, why are we passing 95% of the funds to the sub, and 2) basically need to drop it, we make nothing and have to fully staff it?

Pro tip: when someone is pressing you for access to something that only benefits them, there’s a reason. Yesterday’s price ain’t today’s!

So I asked my boss to put time on our calendars for a mid-year review. I’m already one foot out so mapping out my strategy to move on. I’ll give her a chance but after that convo I’ll really know what’s up.
lol we’re having this next week, that’s how busy-ish our year is.

Getting a new CEO in a week and ofc there’s gonna be all these transformation meetings and announcements

Interesting past couple of months.

Got promoted back in July to Sr. manager and by August l had recruiters hitting me up for roles. Best one had a 30%+ bump in total comp.

Had two interviews the past two weeks but didn’t get to the next round on either. A bit of a gap in knowledge/experience but also lack of practice. I was definitely rusty since the last time I did a proper job interview was 5 yrs ago.

Still, I should have performed better especially for one of the roles at a company that my direct team member moved to. We are on the same broader team, do the same work so it should have been a shoe in for me.

Anyway, my plan was to move into a new role by Jan’26, so I’m ahead of schedule if anything. November is when I get my EOY bonus, a new tranche of stock options and some stock will vest so no need to lose out on that comp.

It takes at least 3-4 months to find a role you really like. I will start practicing and networking so come January, I’ll be in a new role. Hope I can use 4-5 weeks to take time off before I transition roles. Do some well needed long travel.

About 14 weeks until my Christmas holiday.
The focus is on closing out the work experience gaps, beefing up my finances and looking at how I can build side income with AI.

Jobs need to start adding comp for dealing with personality disorders that have nothing to do with the work but definitely impact your ability to do it :unimpressed:

People be crying and shyt like yeah it’s stressful but the attitudes and emotions running high be like smh, okay I guess :heh:

I’m tryna raise my kid and read these disses between Cardi and Nicki I don’t have time to be doing extra emotional labor

My brehette coworker turns our half hour weekly catch-up session into 2 hours. She's cool, but that shyt gets annoying

Also, I got meets expectations on my annual review and a 5% raise
