The most depressing thing i discovered in life is that there is really no reward for being a good person in this world. that fact alone isn't so bad because most good people aren't looking for rewards. the fact that makes it depressing is that more often than not being a good person will either set you back or get you punished in life.

the main reason is that people tend to place their own self interest ahead of anything else so when they encounter a good person they just found their next sucker to take advantage of. in a world filled with people putting their own self interest ahead of anything else if you're putting the interest of others ahead of your own that makes you a sucker by default.

I'm glad the article invoked Biblical principle into the discussions. The criticisms of spiritual people is a needed one. The Bible also says;

Get the vibe a lot of the shyt in this article applies to some of the folk on here judging by some of the defensive responses

This is nothing to base your life off of, but it certainly can put some things in your life in perspective. That speech in particular, something like that is more inclined to motivate me if I know that I'm not performing up to standard (although odds are I'd probably be dude giving the speech, or at least dude behind him ) and wouldn't take offense because I know to read between the lines. On the flipside, I know plenty of people that wouldn't stand for that shyt and would either curse dude out or be depressed about it. Not the approach I'd take but

Simply because people have different out looks on life. Make improvements in your life you own joy and happiness not for the sake of other. I took away that all changes you make in life is to make you a better person that others can use. Point 3 I feel people are not happy because they can't stop and truly appreciate want they have. I am not saying you can't strive for more. But when is the last time you got up and said I may not have the six figure job I want right now but son I am glad I can wake up in the morning. I am able to put my hands in my pocket and purchase things . Also become the person chicks want to be around. I can kind of agree nobody want to be with someone who is self loathing all the time. But be you, you like video games and comic books do that. Don't get rid of yourself completely
