the only inappropriate songs i remember singing as a kid was OPP, that barbie girl song from 97, and some song from an old school dancehall artist general degree about some woman wanting the pianist when he was really saying "she wants the penis". that's about it. my parents weren't trying to play any pop, rap, or any music at the time.
