man I see professional folks being broke all the time. my daughters do competitive cheerleading (black owned), and their coach is regularly bytching about parents not paying tuitions despite their kids having new jordans, and the moms having new purses and new cars.

I got an old car and work from home and come up there looking bummy, but my kids are fully paid off :obama:

Trying to keep up a facade for the social circle makes people spend more than they should.

I see this happen a lot with brehs and brehettes who are in fraternities and sororities. They gotta spend to keep pace with their line mates.

Couple that with the degree to which Black people like to stunt on social media and you typically have a recipe for financial disaster. :francis:

@Reinscarf 's quote remains spot on to this day:

If you looked at Instagram you'd think the black household income was like 200k

It's crazy, breh. Black people spend money on clothes, shoes, cars, vacations like we have substantial individual net worth and a sizable incomes!

In reality, the average person stuntin' on IG is making less than $50K with a bunch of student loan and credit card debt. :snoop:

But, it's a vicious cycle. A breh or brehette sees someone they know on there stuntin' and they feel the need to stunt to get the same attention on IG.

Then, the next person in their social circle feels compelled to stunt. And then the next person...
