I think this is the most telling part of your story. If her motivation for reaching out is purely financial, it probably shows her true colors

If she came to you when her life was good and she didn't "need" anything and said "I want to do what I can to mend our relationship" then you should hear her out. But if all she wants/needs is money

Everybody makes bad decisions and mistakes in life. How I judge them is by how they go about repairing the mistake.

If she was being a high-explosive bytch and showed no remorse or attempt to correct whatever it was that she did wrong, then fukk her. Like, "Yeah I was a bytch but fukk you just deal with it." yeah nobody needs that in their life, blood or not.

But if you can see that she sees she fukked up and has learned and changed from the mistake, I'd give her another shot.

Its crazy this was bumped, I was just reading through the thread and similar threads about cutting family off and didn't realise there were no posts. Coincidence

I cant take this negativity anymore, Its been on my mind about cutting my fam off for quite a while but I held off on it to try and reconcile things but doesnt look like that can happen. It's a real terrible feeling knowing noones got your back like that and I'm by myself but it is what it is

Blood family isn't the family you choose. It's just genetics. It's the loyalty and support that makes you guys family.

I gravitate towards chill people. The only chill people in my family were my pops (rip), couple of cousins and uncles, brother in laws.

Don't really associate with them cause gossip runs rampant over there. Not a fan of emotional manipulation.

I'm cool but can come off pretty emotionless and cold due to being from NY.
