I think he realizes that it is going to be WAY tougher than he expected. His power is good but it isn't elite and he got tagged a lot by a past prime title holder

I think he is more trying to be a boxer than anything else. What gives him problems are shorter heavies with good lateral movement and decent countering. Leaning straight back against AJ will have Jared doing the stanky leg

Jared Anderson 's defense is SLOPPY, and does not have enough power to keep people off him. It was so evident how easy it was for Martin to come forward and hit clean shots. Martin was never super hurt by Jared's power shots, he was dazed at best
