I get why WWE is going to say that if it wasn't for Hogan "there wouldn't be wrestling" but in reality it's just not true. Yes, he was the guy along with the Cyndi Lauper angle that catapulted WWE into the stratosphere into the mainstream but wrestling as a whole was hugely successful before Hogan.

Bruno was selling out MSG every week!

Dusty and Flair and them were putting asses in seats in the south like crazy!

Half & half, Yes it was successful but HOEgan & Vince made it mainstream which in turn made it live on for what seems like forever. The territories were eventually going to die once cable became even more popular, and the best product would end up getting the best deal. There's a reason why Vince was able to snatch up other territories top talent.

Anyone who controlled New York was going to have the upper hand. Gagne and Crockett should have teamed up more to lockdown Chicago but the two of them were backstabbing each other as well.
