At this point you can thrive if you join the military and use it to bolster what you want to do later on in life.

Once you're finished serving and in good health, the rest of you life should be pretty easy street.

I never joined, but I know many family members who have. Worked out very well for them.

Assuming you finish your term with good health then you've practically raised your floor and your ceiling when you return back to civilian life.

Crazy, but if you signed up in 2019, you'd be done pretty soon and with an insane amount of benefits.

Ok ignore the other sources such as nbcnews and New York Times
that don't even agree with your original point? or the other shyt linked?

nobody wants a bunch of fat, mentally ill people in any military. and like i said earlier, all this dismisses the key context which was the drawdown - which occurred before we even left afghanistan. shyt, if anything numbers spiked after abortion was put in jeopardy lmao... but the need to paint some desperate picture is wholly to drive clicks. its always that way in downturns.

What good would they be if they use the SAME document you posted as a reference? However, they don't and are stating things that have NOTHING to do with the premise you began this thread with.

If I knew then what I knew now I would be on my 15th year of service being a few years from retirement working on getting 100% disability. But hindsight is 20/20. Instead of only having 4 years of service and just now hoping to get at least 30%. :francis:
I know a few people who did 4-6 and got 100%

I kind of fall in this category my dad was deployed around that time period when I was signing up for the military and I didn't really take the time to consult with him before signing anything so I ended up joining a job I didn't want cause (Security Forces) a recruiter said it was easy to cross train and I took what they said at face value.
I’m still in Secfo .. in Florida right now

College track kids won't go. Sorority broads, beer pong and football games >>>>>>>> basic training. Some might if they want the military to pay for their education.

What you're left with are high school kids that may not want to attend a 4 year university. Some kids do trades....so they probably go down that path.

There will always be some kids willing to join the military but many more that just aren't cut out for it.

I was 145 lbs and under 10% bf in high school. Definitely in shape but had plenty of financial aid and college acceptance letters. There are A LOT of kids like I was but honestly the best prospects are going to school.
