I watched MJ do the same thing to Bob Johnson Cats.

We had a solid but old roster that probably would'very amounted to nothing but a treadmill team with Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace and those boys. We made the playoffs once and got swept by the Magic. Jordan/Cho blew it up and now we're on the come up after 6 years of struggle.

If David Stern loved us we would have Anthony Davis though :pacspit:
Man... those final Bob Johnson/Larry Brown years made me a do a 180 on tanking. People don't realize that the difference between Demar Derozan and Gerald Henderson is 4 spots in the draft. Larry Brown was adamant about not tanking, about not developing young guys and trying to win every game - and what did we get to show for it? Dude was trying to win out in a crappy year and all it dude was stunt the growth of DJ Augustin permanently, alienate the community, and screw us in the future.

The thing is, Charlotte couldn't even tank right away. We had to drop all the high-paid guys off the roster first. People really want to look at their own guys with rose-tinted glasses and all it does is blind you from the truth. Imagine if we actually gave Raymond Felton that extension that he wanted in Charlotte instead of letting him walk?

We'd have had money tied up in

Failton
Stephen Jackson's old ass
Gerald Wallace's suicidal ass
Emeka Okafor's never getting better ass

and people said we were making the wrong moves to not keep that core together

Tank it up, Philly.

They have a lot of talent and have the ability to win games in the east. They could make the playoffs, but they don't want to :mindblown:
They're the worst team in the league even if they tried to win games. People acting like they have talent?

These dudes?

MCW isn't even that good. Philly turned their offense into 80s scustball last year to inflate his stats in order to trade him for another pick and every GM in the league caught wind of the snake oil on sale between him and Evan Turner. Outside of MCW, Noel, and MAYBE KJ, they don't even have NBA caliber players on that roster. Its intentional too. You can't win games without NBA players on the floor - so sidestep all the extra and put out a d-league team.

They're gonna f*ck around and ruin the teams psyche tough. These dudes might go 3-79 or some sh*t. Sometimes there's no coming back after that. You'll lose season ticket holders maybe even some sponsors. God forbid one of their prospects gets an injury. They got a pass last year but a repeat tank job:snoop:

They need to find a SG or SF....they actually just need someone who can get buckets who can hopefully be an efficient shooter.

Noel/Embiid/Saric pretty much got the big spots cover d....They may be one of the teams who should trade for dion waiters....just imagine MCW and Kyrie on the Cavs with Waiters/Wroten on the 76ers...

Next draft they add Towns, Stanley or Mudiay

i don't blame him, that was a terrible call and clearly an offensive foul on harden shoulder/elbow checking MCW...then the announcer has the audacity to say it shoulda been a flagrant foul on philly? is that nikka serious?

Who are they tanking FOR? :mindblown:

Either of these guys would fit with Nerlens and Embid. They could also draft Towns; Okafor, or Mudiay, then package them to net Boogie if Embid gets injured again or trade MCW if they nab Mudiay.

What's funny his how people don't give a shyt here, including the usually ruthless Philly media.
If it wasn't for the majority-black population, the Sixers would be volleyball status in Philly.

The Sixers have been booed in introductions at every game I've been to since the tanking started :mjlol:

Its kind of like a joke at this point. We understand the big picture

I don't think the 76ers would've been tanking this year if Embiid didn't fall to them. Since he's out for the year I think they figure might as well put it off one more year and go ahead and see if they can get one more prospect and then start seeing what they have.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
He genuinely looked pissed off with that technical. But then again the 76ers did a lot stupid shyt down the line... What is the goal of the 76ers with this tanking. Is there some generation prospect they aiming for cuz they already have a nice core. How long do they plan on doing this tanking business. They already traded away holiday and I hear MCW is in the trading block. What's the plan?

I think they plan is to keep tanking until you get that once-in-a-gen player, then spend the next 3 yrs trying to build the core around him that you already traded away. I'm dumbfounded

What are they even tanking for? Are they tanking to draft another injured big man? :mindblown:

They have a lot of talent and have the ability to win games in the east. They could make the playoffs, but they don't want to :mindblown:
a lot of y'all not seeing the point in tanking... or the sixers tanking... let me explain it to you

philly hasn't won a championship since the 80s.. we are a MAJOR market team and area... being in the 5th highest populated city in the US.. not to mention the whole state of PA (cause they have no bball team) and we have fans from the jersey, delaware area too

anyways we DO NOT want to make it to the playoffs.. we DO NOT want a finals appearance... we want some fukking rings sixers, phillies, flyers, eagles... somebody win something dammit

people talk all this shyt... we just were in the playoffs in 2012.. that's two years ago.. so really we only tanked 1 season 2012-2013... and now it looks like this will be the second one

so what did we get for almost making it to the ECF in 2012... absolutely nothing... actually got worse in the offseason.. and we have NO hopes of winning that ring over miami, nyc, cleveland, indiana, or anybody else in the east.. let alone the west.. and when superstars think of destinations, 2012 they didn't want to come here, so why in the hell would they want to now?? it's obvious that free agency isn't gonna get us rings

so that brings me to... what the hell is the plan

the plan is to get a starting 5 of top 5 players... we already have 4, but 2 are not playing right now... next year we'll have an entire starting 5, of top 5-15 picks

what's more important... they are rookie wages so we aren't paying them shyt... so we are also gonna have tens of millions in cap space, along with those players.. that's when you sprinkle the lineup with vets, players who got nowhere else to be, and hopefully 1 A or B list type star will join us

the last part of the plan....... most of these A list stars gonna be old or retired by then... kobe ain't playing 2-3-4 more years.... lebron will be 35 by then... wade will be gone, duncan will be gone, pop might even be gone along with manu, melo gonna be 30 something

so at the end of this "plan" we should end up with a solid top class of rookies... the benefit of playing and learning the nba TOGETHER (spurs shyt) for half a decade... the benefit of stars leaving, teams being weaker, and stars being older/slower.... and a shytload of cash to entice free agents who will then see philly as a viable contender the way they are stacked with young players and a lot of money.. we are essentially trying to GROW a big 3-4-5 like spurs got, not buy them like miami did

orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... all these rookies could be washed up, someone drafts a better star and makes another big 3-4-5 and shyts on us for another 10 years :sadcam:
