Texas suprised me with 276 deaths so far

Gov said he may open up buisness next week
Population density and bad air quality vs Open Space and good air quality. NYC is so densely populated, that I can imagine the chemicals used to kill the germs have contributed to ppl's breathing problems. And the disease probably re-circulated in some communities as it's kinda hard to "escape" the city. This is all a guess. Things may get waaaaay worse for Texas if they decied to open up businesses because they think it's over. Maybe the worst is yet to come.

The California death toll being low is interesting as well. California as a state has space, but all the major cities in CA are dense AF. SF, SD, LA, Long Beach, Oakland, and even parts of SAC and SJ are some of the most densely populated cities in the US.

Says the idiot who said this:

Factually incorrect. Nothing your smart dumb ass says will change that.
Maybe it is. I’m just referencing the article that was posted that indicated that the Bay Area was more dense than New York as the Bay Area becomes more dense compared to New York as you leave the central area. I do not know what they considered “New York” in that article and I quite frankly don’t care. I know I did not see you refute the details in the article. But I also didn’t care enough to continue following closely to everything that was said here. This is the most asinine argument considering in the grand scheme, there is no evidence that population density has any strong and/or direct correlation with the spread of COVID-19.

Just a bunch of nikkas barking about irrelevant stuff acting like they don’t understand what each other is saying.

I saw an article I think Washington post that said New York has most of its travel cases from Europe unlike Cali which was primarily Asia
Don't forget. Trump kinda dragged his feet in issuing travel bans for Europeans and American tourist visting the continent. That includes Spain and Italy.

There’s no maybe. It is incorrect.

That being incorrect is the only thing I challenged, so miss me with all the other shyt.
Bruh... you made a bunch of stuff that I did and said. I don’t know if you confused me with the other people you were going back and forth with or what. But you were legit talking out your ass with regard to me. If you can’t keep up with who you’re responding to, just do us all a favor and stfu.

Furthermore, go read the article. I’m confident you still haven’t done that.

I didn’t mention anything about density in that post. Read better! I said outside of Manhattan people in SF live on top eachother comparably to New Yorkers outside of Manhattan.

There are large portions of land in Queens, Staten Island have lots of communities that are more residential than SF areas.
What you’re talking about is quite literally population density. This is a distinction without a difference. There are considerably more people doing that in NYC regardless of any borough (SI notwithstanding).

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
So what about the class and intervention part.

sounds like you care about living fancy as long as you can , and really aren’t taking self preservation into consideration .

On top of there’s clearly a more aggressive version of the virus out there

what extra precautions have been taken since reaching such a higher than avg death toll ? :jbhmm:

..I’ll wait

I’m not sure what you’re telling me here.

But look at how many people in NYC ride public transportation vs CA

Comparing the density of NYC to San Fran and San Diego :dead:

One block in Manhattan might legit have a 1000 people on it at any given time including ppl inside the buildings
Never in my life have I been anywhere in CA where I had to walk in single file line with no where to move cause the pavement was so crowded

I don’t want to focus too much on sub-topic per say but the point of my post is that density is not the only factor in this at all.

If density was the clear reasoning behind the virus outbreak than the New Orleans metro area would have not a higher per cap of the virus than NYC.

LA and SF would would also have higher than normal averages. Manhattan the most dense place in America would not have the second to least cases in NYC.

Atlanta a very car dependent city would not have a higher rate than more dense and subway orientated Boston.

A virus has many different diverse ways of spreading and it can easily spread through a small town the way it can spread through a large city.

Here’s an article explaining it.

I made nothing up. I quoted exactly what you said. It was false.

Either show how it’s true, or get over it. :yeshrug:
I already pointed out what you made up and you avoided it.

Just to dead this I went back and read the article again. The article is talking about Metro Areas, because that is “where most people actually live” which includes over 1,500 square miles. With regard to New York, as someone mentioned, it even includes parts of New Jersey.

So yes, the CITY of New York is more dense than any other city. Also, the New York Metro Area is less dense than several other Metro Areas. It is ONLY when considering Metro Areas that other areas are more densely populated

The one sentence that you quoted from was indeed a misstatement as I didn’t recognize it was talking about the entire New York Metro area.

My last question would be... when they talk about deaths in New York, how many are in the New York metro area vs New York City proper.

Manhattan is much more crowded than San Francisco.

NYC as a whole including the four boroughs is not that much crowded than San Francisco.

Los Angles metro area is actually more crowded than NYC metro area.

HuffPost is now a part of Verizon Media

The urban core of Los Angeles is much less dense than New York, but the suburbs (where most people live) are twice as dense.”
